The use of the beige palette is once again shown on Graver and Alejandro – both of whom are caught in between lawfulness and lawlessness. Concerning concepts of morality, the beige palette alludes to the ambiguities between right and wrong, summarily representing the U.S.’s role in the drug war. The color blue seen in her and Reggie’s wardrobes represents Kate’s adherence to, and belief in, the law and social justice ideals. The color blue is a metaphor for the gradual degradation of her idealism. Her disintegrating idealism of social justice is shown visibly through the desaturation of blue tones in the shirts she wears as they slowly progress into grey, marking her ultimate loss of faith in the justice system.
