Inception can be described as, “the time at which something begins.” The movie
Inception bases itself on the lives of those who live in our world, but often enter altered worlds
when put into a deep sleep. Dominic Cobb the main character in the movie is a mastered thief,
uses what he has learned to find and take information from the minds of others when they are at
a vulnerable state and have been put into a deep sleep. It is this moment when the person who
has allowed themselves to enter a deep state of sleep falls into another alter unreal world and has
allowed Inception to occur. During the film, the main character is faced with the opportunity to
change his ways and become rid of the wrong doing in his past. This opportunity comes from
none other than Mr. Saito who uses Dominic Cobbs wrong doing against him in an attempt to get
Cobb to complete a job for him.
As an incentive and a way to get Cobb to perform the job of implanting a memory into
the head of another, he tells Cobb that he will be rewarded by seeing his children again. Cobb
who proves during the film that nothing is more important to him than his children, takes
Mr.Saito up on his offer. In order to complete the job that Mr.Saito requests of him, Dominic
Cobb forms a team of people who have abilities and talents that will allow Cobb to enter
Inception. In order to complete and enter Inception Cobb and his team create three altered worlds

that are difficult to tell from reality. Once Inception has occurred and each person enters the
different layers of reality, the dreams become more complex and the characters have a hard time
telling the difference between what is real and what is not. The ending of film shows Cobb

One may feel that the message is to show what one’s mind is capable of and how your
mind battles between what is right and what is wrong. One may wonder how does one know
right from wrong? “The ability to distinguish between good and evil is not itself the cause of the
existence of evil in the world. Rather, the existence of evil is the reason why we must learn to
distinguish between good and evil, in order to avoid evil and to promote good” (Gockel pg.100).
Those who have watched this film may have reflected on the good and evil in their life
and what God’s intentions for us and how he knows and has planned for our future. The movie
reminds us how we are God’s creatures and that we may be crossed with temptation, but we
should not give in but instead continue to seek God.
Throughout the movie the director breaks down the message in clever ways and makes the message very precise and clear. In the movie the director was attempting to teach the viewers a life lesson. In order to have peace of mind and continue to actually “live” it is important that you don’t hold grudges, believe, have faith, and no matter the situation don’t ignore signs due to your stubbornness or convincing yourself otherwise when you know the truth.
Visual connection in both Inception and Metamorphoses signals trauma. Cobb’s primary look through the window reflects Orpheus’s glance backwards which causes Eurydice to die a second time. In the flashback scene, Mal closes her eyes when Cobb shouts to her, “Look at me!” The closing of her eyes reverses the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. Here, Mal’s refusal to look toward Cobb causes her death. We see the action through reverse shots between the point of view of Cobb and Mal, heightening the scene’s traumatic nature. However, the camera stays with Cobb’s point of view for longer in scenes where both character interact, especially true when Mal falls from the window ledge as the camera tracks her progress down, mimicking Cobb’s line of sight. Just
Today, many people associate the word “inception” with the award winning Christopher Nolan film, but what does inception really mean? All dreams aside, inception is the time at which something begins. However, Inception is also the title of a rap composed by artist who goes by the name of Logic. Logic, also known as Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, is a rapper from Maryland. Inception is on Logic’s 2012 mixtape, “Young Sinatra: Undeniable”. I admire much of Logic’s work; however, Inception not only resonates within me emotionally with its sound, but I find that the lyrics echo inspiration and motivation that I can relate to personally.
The fragmentary nature of the dream, including how it ends with a scramble in the House of Rumour, makes the vision more relatable. As the dreamer
Whether or not humans are instinctively good or evil has been a much talked about debate for many years and is known as an unanswerable question. Determinists, such as Thomas Hobbs, have come to the conclusion that humans are naturally evil and it is within our basic instincts to be greedy, selfish and otherwise drawn to chaos. Hobbs states that “our true nature arises in times of strife and it is within us, when threatened, to self preserve.” I on the other hand disagree with this famous philosophers take on human nature. In this short essay, I will argue that human beings are born with the instinct to be good and to love one another, as well as to be loved.
Evil is a metaphysical term used to describe the thoughts and actions of humans that are seen as morally wrong or ‘bad’. In extreme cases even a person can be labelled as overall evil, such as Adolf Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer. Previously, it has been thought that a person has the ability to choose between being ‘good’ or ‘evil’ and that they simply make this decision based upon what pleases them. Recently, however, neuroscientists have shed some light upon the physical explanations of human thought and action. In this essay I argue that evil does not exist, and that actions and thoughts previously termed ‘evil’ are in fact malfunctions of the human brain.
In the beginning of both of the pieces of literature, the main character(s) have not had the experience that will shape their values yet. Rather, as time moves forward in the stories, the
Record/describe one of the many lessons we can learn about ‘emotion’ or the important of ‘feeling’ from the movie.
Inception makes us question the world we live in. When Saito proposes an offer on performing inception on a rival corporation, Cobb accepts this in hopes of returning back to his children. After performing the inception, Cobb does see his children’s faces once again. But, he comes to challenge their existence by spinning his totem. How do we tell whether if we are in a dream or in reality? Most people would answer this question by how they feel, but as Ariadne points out, “…I thought the dream space would be all about the visual, but it’s more about the feel of it” (Tullmann 78). Since we truly don’t know how to determine our reality over our dreams, it leads to a constant problem, epistemic angst. Tullmann looks at epistemic angst and the responses to it.
The film( Inception) ends with a close up of the spinning top and then the film ends. Now the meaning of this final scene is to make the movie matter to our the viewers in a way that we will remember after watching the film. When Cobb hugs and embraces his kids he lets go of all the grief and guilt that he was holding in his heart since the death of his wife( Mal). This is shown in all the dreams that Cobb has with his kids in it, because he never sees their faces because of his grief and guilt. All his grief and guilt was gone when he let go of Mal when Ariadne shot Mal.
This film really focuses on the characters. Their thoughts, anger, distress, and mistakes become part of your mistakes. This deals with a father’s s priority and how he will achieve that priority by using unethical ways like torturing an innocent man. Bringing up child abduction and torture are
I’m convinced that we all have choices and what we choose to visualise and see, in time, creates our reality. We can choose to live in routine mediocrity, or create through thought and our beliefs—which are merely repeated thoughts, our dream worlds.
“Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence. From these contraries spring what the religious call Good & Evil. Good is the passive that obeys Reason. Evil is the active springing from Energy. Good is Heaven. Evil is Hell,”
