The Beatles John Lennon once quoted, "If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there 'd be peace." According to , "In 1960 a rock and roll band was formed in Liverpool, England. The band consist of four young men, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era." According to," The Beatles built their reputation playing in clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over a three-year period, before their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania." The Beatles first hit, "Love Me Do", was in late 1962. It was at that time when they acquired the nickname, "the Fab Four." noted, "In 1964 the Beatles became international stars, leading the "British Invasion" of the United State pop market. In1970, the band broke up and went on to enjoy a successful musical careers of varying lengths." The Beatles became one of the most loved and poplar bands of all times. However, not everyone felt this way. The Beatles would soon find this out. According to Rolling Stone Magazine, "John Lennon and Paul McCartney met while they were performing in Skiffle Groups, which were homespun bands. John was in Card 2 a group called The Quarrymen and Ringo was playing in another popular Liverpool band before they became the Beatles". A gentleman by the name of Brian Epstein, noticed the Beatles while performing and he thought they had something unique. Mr. Epstein soon became their manager. They managed to make it through all the drugs, controversy, ups and downs and still remained friends to the end. According to, "McCartney and Starr, the surviving members, remain musically active. Lennon was shot and killed in December 1980, and Harrison died of lung cancer in November 2001." It really doesn 't matter if you love them or hate them. One thing is for certain, the Beatles will go down in history as one of the greatest bands ever.
