The treaty of versailles was supposed to end war and instead it turned everything to the worst causing one of the most biggest wars that took place in our history , this war is called world war II. World war II took place around 1939 to 1945. It began over germany invasion over poland and austria , the u.s wasnt yet involved until the pearl harbor was attacked. Hitler’s promise to Germany to bring the country back to a major power status lured the country into his rule. Germany had visions of power and greatness, and Hitler was the leader who was going to accomplish that for them. So with power in mind, Germany followed Hitler’s lead, which led to the annihilation and almost extinction of the Jews in Europe.

Britain stood alone as Russia led by Stalin had signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler and the U.S. A. although shocked by the fall of France and sympathetic to Britain, was against getting into the war. The Germans hoped to subdue the British by starving them out. In June 1940 they undertook the Battle of the Atlantic, using submarine warfare to cut the British overseas lifelines. The Germans had submarine bases in Norway and France. At the start of World War II Germany only had 28 submarines, but more were being built - enough to keep Britain in danger until the spring of 1943.
