I decided to use the awareness model to analyze my own behavior to make sense of why my group members responded to me in the manner that they did. I noticed when we had our first in class group assignment, I was unsure about the assignment so my group automatically responded by letting me express my point last during the class discussion. This didn’t bother me because I’m not always confident in my answers but it was the fact that everyone had this mental mutual agreement to let me answer last. This could be because I wasn’t paying attention to the actual assignment and probably appeared to be careless or undereducated to my peers. That was when I labeled her as “laptop girl”; as in the girl who would probably uses her laptop and maybe even her phone for everything, even when it’s unnecessary.
