The Assassination of Tupac (2Pac) Shakur (Greatest Rapper?)

"Selling more than 75 million copies of his album, Tupac became one of the best selling artists in the world" (Tupac Shakur Biography). Tupac Shakur a.k.a 2 Pac was born in New York in 1971 (Tupac Shakur Biography). His Personality/Music had a huge influence on people of that time and even until today he is remembered as a legend. Surrounded by many Conspiracy theories on Tupac's Assassination, Some people even believe that he is still alive and might make a sudden come back sometime soon, but what has Tupac left behind? Why do people until today still consider him a legend? What was his influence on the Rap Music? Why, When and How was Tupac assassinated? Even modern popular artists like Kendrick Lamar, YG, Snoop Dogg and many others still look up to him and follow his footsteps.

I enjoy music and every aspect of it. It doesn't matter to me what kind of music it is or what language it's in. Rap Music is certainly what I find most appealing to me. So I choose this topic to research on why Tupac had such huge influence on people and also because he is one of the greatest known rappers to ever live.

Historical Context

According to the article "Income and Poverty Rate at 1990s Levels" stats show that "poverty rate in America was up to 15.1%". Many families were homeless and large amount of African American communities were also living in very poor and harsh conditions. During the same period of time. many Civil Rights movements were being formed to fight against the Discrimination of Minorities, "four Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers were acquitted of charges in the savage beating of Rodney King" (Chandler, Rodney King Riots).
