The American Diet

The world’s dietary functionality differs from region to region, but a consensus remains constant; americans have an unfulfilling diet overall. In other countries the have their diet scheduled for three structured meals for each day, whereas americans eat whenever their minds tell them that they are hungry. The problem with the american way is when americans eat, they eat food that is filling to the brain but not to the stomach. Americans are always on the run, therefore there is not sufficient time to prepare a structured meals; instead americans rely on fast food. This method of nourishment comes with its own set of issues, food is of a lower quality than that of a home-cooked meal. Along with that comes poor beverage quality instituted by soft drinks. Accompanying the nomadic tendencies of Americans comes the monetary restrictions on meals; it costs less money to purchase a fat filled hamburger than to purchase the ingredients for a healthy and well balanced meal. Therefore if Americans took more time and effort into the proper planning and construction of a well balanced meal, the nation would be healthier. The structure of american transpiration is largely defined as a commute. Parents must transport children to their respective educational facilities then travel to their own place of work or employment. People have little to no time to prepare a meal in the morning for themselves, let alone their children; it is much more simple to stop at a conveniently placed drive-through and purchase something.“People do choose to eat fast food, but it’s also true that advertising and convenience make it difficult to avoid fast food–and its effects on obesity in America.” (Pew Research Center ) The childrens’ lunches are less than nutr... ... middle of paper ... ...on as well, because with everyone eating right it would cause the people to be in a better mood overall.
