United States is a place where people of all race, religion, and creed come together to thrive and become prosperous. I believe in the American Dream. The American Dream is the set of ideals that most Americans have. They wish to give future generations after themselves the same advantages they had, if not better. The American Dream is a way for the United States to make a cultural, and social development. My grandparents came to the US in search of a better life, not only for themselves, but their children, and their grandchildren. Realizing their children will not thrive in Honduras, as much as they would in the US. Therefore, my grandfather and grandmother moved my mom, when she was two years old. My grandparents took the ultimate risk in search of a huge reward. My parents were able to successfully gain an education and work a good paying job. I am able to focus on school without the worries of money or other issues. I am able to pursue my aspirations and goals. Julian Castro, the US Secretary of Housing and Urban Development once said, “In the end, the American dream is not a sprint, or even a marathon, but a relay. Our families don't always cross the finish line in the span of one generation. But each generation passes on to the next the fruits of their labor.” I connect with this because my grandparents sought the American Dream, but did not necessarily achieve it, however, they came close enough so my parents could get there.
