Thanksgiving Narrative

On Thanksgiving morning I start my day with breakfast and a shower. Then I get ready to go over to my grandma’s house for thanksgiving lunch with my mom’s side of the family. When I get to her house I’m instantly greeted by my grandma’s weiner dog Rebel, then I go greet other family members and get a plate of food, but I never take too much since I still have to eat thanksgiving dinner with my dad’s side of the family. Once everyone has their plates we sit down at the dining room table and start to eat. The food is always great, my grandma is a really good cook. We have mashed potatoes, turkey, rice with beans, salad, and fruits. For dessert, my mom always make the best pudding cake I’ve ever tasted! I say bye to everyone and my mom walks my little brother and I to my dad’s house. My grandma lives really close to my dad that’s why we walk. My dad’s side of the family has Thanksgiving dinner so everyone doesn’t start showing up until about 4 o’clock. While we wait I help clean up the house. I start by sweeping and mopping the floors and doing the dishes. My Uncle Loi is usually the first person to show up, then my Titi Esmi and her kids, my cousins Natalie and Nathan, show up. Afterwards, my aunt Alma comes with my other cousins, Brianna and Megan, she also brings the sweets. We all eat and after, the adults start talking about grown up things, so the kids go upstairs. We usually play with my dog or on go on my computer until our parents tell us to come back downstairs which means everyone is about to leave so we start hugging everyone and saying happy thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving I’m really thankful family and friendship. I’ve been hearing stories lately about how some people don’t have anyone to celebrate the holidays with and it makes me really grateful to have all these people in my life that support me, care for me, and love
