Thanksgiving is an important public holiday, celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, Setting aside time to give thanks for one 's blessing. Even though during this blissful day you are very busy greeting, eating, and socializing with family, everyone has that one favorite moment during the day that they love and will cherish for the rest of their lives. For me thanksgivings are always very monumental, especially last years’ thanksgiving which was my first thanksgiving dinner with my great grandmother. I remember it like it was yesterday; it was November 25th, 2015, Thursday morning. Between times with helping my mother in the kitchen, I would go outside with my sister and little cousins just to joke around and laugh. In the midst of our humorous conversation, I overheard the soulful outpour of R&B music filling the house. I then knew that Thanksgiving Day had officially commenced. After a while, my mom would call us all in, and sat with us then she began to stress to us the significance of this magnificent holiday. After our family talk we would prepare our flavorstar dishes to be wrapped up to be taken to my grandmother house. As I would help my mother get the food ready I would admire the cinnamon/ sugary scented sweet potato pie which has always been my favorite. Once the food was covered we would all dash down the hall in our bed room and scuttle to get the house clean. Feeling like superwomen and a ball of light, we managed to clean the house in twenty five minutes. After everyone was dressed, we assisted my mom with putting the food in the car. As I lifted the ponderous saran wrapped dressing off the counter I proceed outside. As I hurried out of front door, I remember hearing alluring light colored birds singing as I walked past, sounding like a flock of angles hissing in my ear. Getting out the car and walking into my grandma house you could smell the baked cheesy scented mac & cheese with a golden baked crisp which also sent my attention to the oven where I smelled a hint of spicy hot aroma coming from the collard greens. Immediately rushing to the kitchen to put the food down, I ran into my great grandmother. Feeling delighted to see her; I rushed and gave her a hug knowing this was going to be the first thanksgiving with my great grandma I didn’t know how to act. After acknowledging her I continued to go around the house specking to everyone. right after I was done saying hello I ended up in the dinning room where I witnessed three tables being covered with green, orange, and brown table cloths. Right after the tables was cover I saw crystals clear candle holders being carried in holding all white candles. After a while, I was asked to help fold the orange leaf colored napkins and place them in the clear champagne glasses and on the right side of every white gold rim glass plate. With all the moving around and decorating I was doing, I was getting really hungry so I decided to go in the kitchen to see what was still cooking or what was ready for me to test
