Today I will be telling the story of terry Fox he is a canadian hero who raised money for cancer.Terry himself was a cancer survivor and had witnessed very young children in the hospital suffering,he was diagnosed with bone cancer and the only way he could survive that he would get his leg amputated because the odds of him surviving were very slim they had to amputate his right leg which increased his chance of survival.He learned to walk again and from that he practiced running he took it very seriously and trained for 18 months through summer,fall,winter,spring and he never quite and he only rested once. He told his family that he was going to run all across
Canada to raise money.

Nationalism is defined as love of your country. The basis for Canada’s national love of country is focused around three main ideas; devotion, sacrifice and willingness to die. These characteristics are displayed in the play Billy Bishop Goes to War. Thousands of young men were shipped off to war with these three great qualities. Billy Bishop was among those thousands and was an outstanding World War One pilot who displayed the three key qualities that our national love is based upon throughout the play. Being willing to do anything to protect our country and its freedom is nationalism.

Elie was mentally fit and told himself that he wouldn’t give up, however, his father was slower and a lot older, making it much harder for him to be quick on his feet. In Unbroken, the quickness that Louie showed as a child and while growing up, helped him prepare for the future of being quick on his feet as well as being mentally and physically strong. “The same attributes that had made [Louie] the boy terror of Torrance were keeping him alive in the greatest struggle of his life” (Hillenbrand 34). In many of the conditions that Louie faced on a daily basis, only someone with his faith still holding together and can persevere through the struggles in his life is going to make it out

Terry Fox had all the obstacles lined up and he knocked them down, although the malignant tumor in his right leg finally overwhelmed Terry, he still overcame numerous obstacles. Terry Fox dealt with the tumor in his leg and overcame the amputation of his leg. He also managed to train for the marathon of hope, even though overcoming a physical and emotional amputation. He also was able to start his run for the marathon of Hope, by attempting to run across Canada raising money as he ran. Even though Terry Fox did not complete his goal, he still lives on today in our currency, stamps, and many more ways.

Craig Kielburger was and continues to be a momentous person in Canadian history. He has forever changed Canadian history due to his ever-growing list of good deeds including: the movement he has started to inspire youth, how he continues to change the lives of people around the world, and the way he brings people together to create change. Craig continues to prove Canada proud with his actions.
When "bambino Rocco" was 18 months of age, he contracted pneumonia. Although the infection nearly killed him, his exceptionally strong constitution enabled him to survive without impairment.
The story “The One Legged Wrestler Who Conquered his Sport then Left it all behind” by David Merrill is about a young man and his wrestling career in high school and his time at Arizona State University. Anthony Robles was faced with many distinctive and difficult challenges as he was born with the horrendous fact of missing a crucial part of the human body, his right leg. Many believe a person born with this disability can’t have an athletic career, but Anthony found wrestling. When he began wrestling he didn’t draw anything but laughter from the audience, but as his talent grew, this changed. As he dominated the high school level of competition in his junior and senior years with an astonishing record of 96-0, he was declined from his top choice schools which were Iowa, Oklahoma State, and Columbia because they didn’t believe he would be a success at the National Collegiate Athletic Association level. They believed he was “too small” to win at that high level of wrestling. Years later he managed to walk away with his first NCAA title going 36-0 his senior year of college with an overall college record of 121-20. As he walked away a

The book Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, was a very interesting story about a young man going to live out in the wild of Alaska. This young mans name is Chris McCandless also known as Alex Supertramp. He had a lot of courage to go out this trip facing the wild. He has set high hopes for how young he is. Graduating college than leaving directly after graduating and burned all of his money and left his car and most possessions behind. His bravery definitely had a big impact on the story. With his bravery, it seemed like he has done this before and has no weariness. Chris was very independent on his trip. He received little help from people. He got work a few times to buy gear for his trip to Alaska, other than that he was either hitch hiking or walking.
There are currently many famous people all around the world as well as in the past and throughout all of Canadian history, but only one person comes into mind; his name is Terry Fox. Despite having a mechanical leg, Terry Fox has made more difference than any other average person. Terry Fox was a great Canadian because he was an extraordinary athlete, role model and contributor.

I would like to tell everybody about someone who has made the most of his opportunity. Many of you guys know him, and he's actually a very close friend of mine. He's my dad, Mark Reiman. My father was blessed with the disease ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. For those of you who don't know what this disease is about, it weakens your muscles until you are unable to function.
