Topic B Love all. In tennis, this means the score is zero to zero. In my life, it means something very different. I love all the unique aspects of tennis, and how it has shaped who I am today. Tennis has taught me many important characteristics which will be carried with me for the rest of my life: discipline, integrity and leadership. I started playing tennis when I was nine years old. No one in my family played the sport, nor did my friends. It was just always a desire of mine to pick up a racquet and play. Playing on a team with other people and having to work with others was a new occurrence in my life which I hadn't experienced anywhere else. The team aspect of tennis is another reason why this game is held in such high esteem. The unification a team requires is so strong and demanding, it requires everyone’s participation, whether they want to or not. I quickly learned that for a team to work efficiently, there must be honesty and loyalty. However, the team aspect of tennis also made me lose respect for some of my teammates. It was not easy for me to move away from something so important but in the long run it was going to be good due to the ability to recognize an unhealthy situation and take myself out of it. Integrity is something team tennis taught me. In order to have good sportsmanship and be honest one must show integrity. Taking this as a positive experience, I knew that in my future I would have relationships that would need to be recognized as harmful or unhealthy.
