Technology has influenced modern life in many ways and with its every advancement; people may find themselves wondering how these things are possible. Wireless devices are in such constant use every day from people in the medical field to the average individual. However, society may eventually suffer adverse effects from the over use of wireless technology devices, even for the purpose of education.
While it is not surprising that digital media can take learning experiences to another level, and spark creativity in students as well, this type of learning does not come without great cost. Mark Blankenship, who is a writer for higher education, states that although students who have specific learning needs can learn at their own pace and also bear the responsibility for their own education needs, extra training is needed for the teachers to become more media literate(40.) In addition, oral class participation and sharing will tend to happen less because of the loss o personal contact (Blankenship 41.) However, using the social media in class for some students is not only a valuable way to participate in class but an equally essential tool to prepare for their career (Blankenship 41).
Being able to complete tasks in a timely manner is helpful in most professions. Therefore, multitasking has become necessary to keep up with the fast pace that most people face on a daily basis. Having the capacity to attend several things at once is somewhat thought to be a talent until one considers the drawback of how impersonal the outcome can be (Wallis, Cole, Steptoe, & Dale 3). While research proves that the wireless technology is beneficial in the workplace and schools, perhaps the primary concern is its effect on the individual’s interaction...

The invention of wireless technology was to improve modern life in many ways; however, the lack of limiting one’s use will make life harder.

After reviewing the article,“The Epidemic of Media Multitasking While Learning” By Annie Murphy Paul, it can be concluded that the author believes that most students cannot learn or do any homework related assignments without the usage of social media. With believing that most students cannot focus long enough on an assignment without using social media it provides evidence behind the author’s theory. Thus, with these certain types of studies it leads the author into believing that media multitasking shortens the focus of students in today’s society. Throughout the article, the author supports her main points by utilizing studies that proves her main point. By the author providing multiple examples of the research studies done on students
My brother Carlos a ¡§full time computer geek¡¨ and I had decided at the beginning of the summer that we were taking the family to Disney but I wasn¡¦t going to take any downtime or a vacation per se. Instead, I would validate through ¡§war driving around an area with a laptop computer and an 802.11 network card to identify the presence of wireless networks.¡¨ Let me preface, my brother¡¦s experience with wireless networks. He embraces new technologies and tries to understand how to make the workplace safe with security controls. My little brother has actually taught me every thing I know about IT.
Even as I sit here typing this paper, my own shiny, rectangular piece of molded plastic and metal lies inches away from my fingertips, beckoning me to use it. Looking out the window, one of the first sights I see are people walking with one hand up to their ear, evidence this technology is in use. I can count on one hand the number of adults I know who do not own one these mobile devices. People are now able to be virtually accessible almost anywhere at any time.
The world has gone through a lot of changed as time passes by. With advancements in the technological field people are can communicate with ones from around the world without having to even lift a finger. To make things more efficient and more cost saving industries have made technology wireless. Wireless technology gives people the chance to get up from their stationary computer, or cord phone and able to freely move without restrictions. The IT, or Information Technology has become a standard and very critical part of today’s society. Wireless technology came from the basic just cellular usage to sensors in the medical field. Wires are now a thing of the past in today’s world with forever revitalizing technology.
The propose research will address a problem confronting many two year institutions in the present-day (i.e. how to best plan, design, and implement WLAN technologies). While WLAN technologies offer the benefits of mobility, reduced installation time, and decreased cost, many challenges must be met by institutions deploying them (Geier, 2005). These issues are related to security, speed, interoperability, and equipment selection, ease of use, reliability, signal interference, installation, and health risks.

In today’s wireless communications the technology has come a long way since its beginnings back in the early nineteen hundreds and has become so advance that most countries have their own regulator. In the UK the regulator for wireless standards is called Ofcom which has been established since 2003. In the US the regulator is Federal Communications Commission and has been established since 1934. These regulators govern what frequency band companies can purchase to provide a wireless mobile service to customers.
Exposing students to the power of social media in the classroom is an important part of preparing them to be active and positive digital citizens in a 21st century world. In the last two years, my own students have rapidly been drawn to Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and many other social networking platforms. They upload, share, and connect with others often without any regard to how their digital footprints may reflect them as individuals. Having continuous conversations with students about the choices that they make can lead to positive results. Students don't realize how powerful social media platforms can be in terms of networking, researching, and engaging in academic conversations. It makes me laugh every time I hear them whisper about my colleague Heather's or my Twitter feed. First of all kids, I can hear you. Second of all, yes, social media can be an amazing way to give and exchanged knowledge.
Technology is unavoidable in our modern lifestyle. You wake up, you use technology; you use technology while cooking, while eating, while driving. While you’re lying in bed before you fall asleep, you use technology, technology wakes you up in the morning. Is all the technology around you good for you, or is it harmful to your health? Was our society healthier or safer before all the advancements? So many questions and concerns about all of the technology we crave, but there are very few people who know the answers. Technology affects all parts of human life. It can create jobs, motivate people to get active, and assist people in learning, but this does not balance out that there are dangers that follow the use of technology.
Wireless is everywhere today whether at home working from your WIFI network to work where you might be linked a wireless network or even through your phone through a 3G or 4G network to connecting to an open wireless networks. As you can see for the most part people are connecting to wireless from the moment they leave their home till they get to work and then back. While wireless comm...
In today’s world there is an increasing demand for wireless connectivity. But with the present technology there is an inefficient use of the available. A large part of the spectrum is underutilised as shown in Fig 1. Due to the inefficient use of spectrum by the current spectrum allocation methods there is a need for developing new methods which aids in efficient use of available spectrum.
Social Media has become a very essential tool in the society; in addition, it has a huge impact on communication and learning process. Social media is defined as websites and applications used for social networking. “As of September 2013, seventy-one percent of online adult use Facebook, eighteen percent use Twitter and seventeen percent use Instagram, twenty-two percent use PInterest, and another twenty-two percent use LinkedIn. (PewReasearch, 2013). In addition, "Between February 2005 and August 2006, the use of social networking sites among young adult internet user ages eighteen and twenty-nine jumped from nine percent to forty-nine percent. The usage of social media had grown drastically.” On social media sites like these, users may develop biographical profiles, communicate with friends and strangers, do research, and share thoughts, photos, music, links, and more” (Socialnetworking.procon,2012). Social media has impacted everyone in several different ways. In this present time, majority of college student use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Social media has a bold impact college student's grades, social interactions, and the teaching and learning process.
The broad aspect of technology in our daily social lives is to simplify or reduce a task’s load. We create cars so they are able to drive us to places rather than walking. Through the expansion of cellular devices, we have never been as connected as we are today. We are creating automated devices to prolong our connection online. Automated cars are popularized due to human error; many lives are lost in automotive related accidents. Although, this is merely not the only case, we have created automated cars so deaths due to the use of cellular devices while driving decrease drastically. Currently we are facing with more than half a million injuries or deaths because of cellular devices [5]. We tackle not the problem itself but instead find another path that we have yet to walk on. We are letting technology do everything it possibly can, to ensure we stay connected with it. This ties strongly to whether we as humans have the ability to control the expansion of technology. The answer is no, what started as means of convenience, has grown into a battle of how out of touch we can be with
The popularity of social media is rapidly increasing in the last few decades. This may be due to the students of colleges and universities as well as youth is widely used for global access. Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have become a craze for everyone nowadays. In these cases, some students are more concerned about social media or social networks than on teaching by lecturers and will cause affected their academic performance.
Introduction: This is a 21th century, technology is the most important and improved thing of the human life. It makes life easier and faster. Development of faster sophisticated technology we have better and fast life. So all we are connect each other by computer network. There are two different way of network: Wired and wireless. Now day we can found network almost everywhere. Home, business, public place, Airport, Planes, hospitals, school, train everywhere we can found networking. Therefore, almost every sector of the economy that has affected by wired and wireless technology. Wired network and wireless protect both has security, But in general wireless network is less secure than wired networks. For proper security AP (access point) and its antenna should be right position. Also add a wireless access point or use a wireless router we can connect to network wirelessly. AS we using more and more of devices (smart phones, tablet and computers) rely on wireless networking, we have to improve our network security too.
