Mike’s eyes are glued on to his computer screen. All that moved were his fingers on the keyboard and the mouse in his right hand. He is checking his social media accounts for the last three hours when he ought to be doing homework. In just three hours, he gave out thousands of likes on Facebook and made hundreds of tweets on Twitter. He is trapped in a trance that he may never break free of. This is due to the impact that technology has on Mike’s life. In the science fiction novel, Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag lives in a world that is controlled by technology. Technology has become a part of human life which has the capability to control people and change them as well. The technology in the world can influence an individual greatly as well as obscure one’s reality. Technology can also diminish the need for knowledge and brainpower. Basically, technology can change anyone’s life in an instant. Technology can make you the most interesting person on Earth one day and then make you condemned the next day. It just depends on how whether the person uses it or abuses it.
