Most people would agree that the world of technology expanded very much in recent years. More than less, technology always contributed to the development of society, education and in psychological research as well. New modern technology transforming research investigation gradually, helping to improve our understanding and allows us to gather the evidence in an effective way. For decades Broca and other neuropsychologists (cited in Toates, 2012), were able to study brain only by dissecting of deceased people. Autopsy as a post-mortem examination of dead brain is far from advanced brain surgery, which allows study the brain functions during operation. Even more, it examines the structures of the brain with conscious presence of the patient. Precisely, the cases stroke patients and their long way of recovery. Stroke patients enriched the knowledge of psychologist in terms of the link between the brain and psychological function. Visible symptoms, such speech impairments, vision restrictions created basement for the localisation of functions which helped to detect affected areas of brain. Also research on plasticity evoked our understanding of brain ability to adapt and partially regain lost function after stroke. For example, patients with serious aphasia can regain part of the function undertaking speech therapy. Similarly, Broka reported (cited in Toates, 2012), that brain had taken over the responsibility for speech in case of women who have been born without the region known as ‘Broca’s area’. Unfortunately, his research was conducted from autopsy while psychologist can monitor these changes in a relatively short time after stroke.
