World War II was one of the biggest wars in history for the U.S. and the world. Our world was divided between two sides. Axis(Bad Guys) and Allies(Good Guys).The world was in turmoil for six straight years. However, technological advancements helped to ensure allied victory in World War II by helping to gain tactical advantages in combat and providing a sense of fear to the Axis forces.
Over the course of the war the U.S. developed several different types of tanks. Due to there being a two front war there were several different environments which had to be adapted to. Advancements had been made to previous tanks in order to combat newer technologies. The Mark 4 Landship was the main tank in World War I. Although it helped break the stalemate of trench warfare in France, by 1939 new tanks had already been made. The Mark 4 helped when it needed to, but it was also costly and tended to be unreliable. During World War II the U.S. was building light tanks extremely fast with low cost and was able to keep a constant supply out for most of the war. As Heinz Guderian once said “If the tanks succeed, then victory follows”

This lead to the development of The Fat Man Bomb or better known as The Atom Bomb. The Atom Bomb works by splitting up atoms really fast to release energy. This process is called Nuclear Fission. The atom bomb was dropped from the Enola Gaye and fell until it impacted in either of the two drop sites Hiroshima or Nagasaki. On impact an explosion of C4 was used to begin the nuclear fission process. With the release of energy from the atom the explosion amplifies and creates the well known Mushroom Cloud.
