Teaching Philosophy Statement

Aristotle once said, “The one exclusive sign of thorough knowledge is the power of teaching.” Teaching enables students to gain the intelligence needed to excel in life. I believe that a teacher’s philosophy of education is a crucial role in his or her approach to leading students on their educated path. A philosophy of education is the set of beliefs that every school and every teacher stand behind. The certain philosophy that one chooses provides the answers to many vital questions, such as the purpose of schooling, a teacher’s role, and what should be taught in the classroom.

In addition, since history always repeats itself, it is good to learn about the past. Other than achieving my history of education degree, I also plan on getting a minor in special education to help prepare myself to help those in need.

Teaching has always been a dream of mine. I like teaching someone new facts and having them understand something that they did not know how to do at one time. I believe that by combining views of my educational philosophies of essentialism and progressivism, my future classroom will prosper. Education is one of the most powerful things in the world today. I want to have a part in educating tomorrow’s future, and by teaching I will accomplish my goal.
