Taylor Swift from Country Princess to Pop Queen 1989 is the fifth album by the American singer and songwriter Taylor Alison Swift which was published by Big Machine Records Label. The album came out in the fall on October 27, 2014. The album was co-written by Swift, Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Shellback, and Ali Payami. In fact, the title of the album was inspired by Swift’s birth year, December 13, 1989. The album is considered her first official pop album. Singles such as “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” from Swift’s Red album in 2012 indicated her transition from a country sweetheart to a pop princess. The cover of the album is a Polaroid of her wearing a seagulls shirt with most of her face got cut off from the picture. The line that stands out the most in the song is “And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate” (Swift). As a celebrity, Swift is surrounded with the haters and the paparazzi; she wants them to know that they can think whatever they desired because she does not care about their negative comments, and she will ignore them. In the song, Swift describes what other people think of her when she sings “Got nothing on my brain/That’s what people say/That’s what people say/ I go on too many dates/ But I can’t make them stay.” Swift is very honest and courageous to accept how others view her, and she calmly shakes those negative comments off with a positive outlook in life. Moreover, the song actually has a positive review as Lipshutz stated, “Swift proves why she belongs among pop's queen bees: As you may have guessed, the song sounds like a surefire hit” (billboard.com). Furthermore, “Shake it Off” is an upbeat song that will stick in people‘s heads and make them want to sing and dance
