Taiga
Biomes, there are six different types of biomes on Earth. The Taiga biome is one of these six on earth and it has a district, different characteristics than the other. I’m going to tell you all about Taigas here are topics I will be writing about it’s locations, characteristics, plants, animals, and organisms, ecosystem, and interesting facts.

Locations
Taiga is located in North America, Asia, and Europe. It stretches across Alaska, Canada, Scandinavia, and Russia. It is located the north part of the northern hemisphere. Taiga’s are the largest continuous biome on Earth. The Taiga is very cold because it near the top of the world. Part of this biome in North America has a landform called the Canadian Shield it takes up a large amount of this biome.

Characteristics
Taiga’s are less diversity of plants. But it has evergreens, pines, spruce, and firs. Taiga’s have lots of water, mountains, fires, snow, and rain. During winter snow falls down BUT during summer rain falls down. There is not much variety in plants since evergreens in taiga’s never drop leaves there is no nutrients in the soil that’s why there is no variety in trees there. Most of the Taiga biome is uninhabited by people.

The Taiga stores more carbon the Temperate and Tropical forest combined. Fires are common in the Taiga biome this helps because it gets rid of old trees. Scientist believe that the Taiga biome was completely covered by glaciers many years ago. Animals in the Taiga have the ability to change colors. Taiga is the Russian word for Forest. It is believed that 32,000 species of insects live in the Taiga. The world’s oldest trees can be found at Taiga. Winter in Taiga is below freezing.
