Communication and media technologies online journal was where I found most of my articles. The online journal provided me with topics ranging from digital media to information systems used for communication of people groups or individuals. Key themes noticed throughout my articles include but are not limited to; Journalism, traditional monopoly’s in media, media and its affect on our daily life, networking, technologies impact on our ability to communicate, political communication, framing, contextualization, public relations and how politics utilize the media to either dictate or record positive and negative responses to political presentations. Major themes include, advertising, political communication, selective exposure, information’s technologies, and interpersonal communication utilizing technologies.
Some interesting topic possibilities for my paper would include, social networking sites and the youth that use them incessantly. Another would be how selective exposure within political communication affects voting. Lastly, public relations and how politics...
When discussing the media, we must search back to its primal state the News Paper. For it was the News paper and its writers that forged ahead and allowed freedoms for today’s journalism on all fronts, from the Twitter accounts to the daily gazettes all must mark a single event in the evolution of media in respects to politics and all things shaping. Moving on in media history, we began to see a rapid expansion around 1990. With more than 50% of all American homes having cable TV access, newspapers in every city and town with major newspaper centers reaching far more than ever before. Then the introduction of the Internet; nothing would ever be the same.

Mass media is a growing business, normally controlled by giant corporations. In fact majority of national news in only covered by few sources known as “Big Media” consisting of ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Time magazine, and United Press International. (Mary 6). Because the media is so big often the corporations determine what is to be given national attention such as the presidential elections. Leaving the opinions of others to change american politics. Mass media has shaped the political system by using the method “Share This” a social media tactic, televising campaign ads or other political views, and by integrating “Live Media Debates”.
The mass media is now a global phenomenon and has revolutionized the way individuals communicate with each other and receive information. In this essay I will examine the three forms of mass media - newspaper, radio and television - and the way they have evolved. I will explain the three main theories relating to the impact of mass media on the public. I will then discuss how media has altered the emphasis of government at election time and on a day-to-day basis.
Media or medium of communication has been conceptualized to effect and drive information to the greater masses because it’s the venue where information can be linear form of communication. The main aim of this report is to analyze the impacts of changes in the media concerning the societal and individual view of politics and politicians. The report also describes significant milestones in mass media since the year 1960 and examines the impact of mass media on how people think politically. The report then considers the effect of technological advancements in mass media and the effect on the results of elections. Among the various impacts of mass media has had on society, the influence and relationship between mass media and politics has been increasing significant in democratic societies. This essay will address the subject of changing media’s influence on politics, especially the influence on campaigns and elections, during the development of digital technology. The discussion and arguments will bring up ideas and theories proposed by scholars over decades. Furthermore, this essay will refer to a number of campaign case studies to support the arguments.
Due to mass media becoming the new form of communicating, we now have smart phones, tablets, and other devices that are technology driven. Our culture has confirmed to this new method of communication. President Donald Trump uses technology as a platform to deliver information on social media. Mass media, such as, social media is designed to be used as a social platform to keep in touch with friends and relatives. It has now become a negative method of communication because many people have turned it into a place for bullying, negative and abusive language, and for unwanted behavior. Social media has now become a platform for hatred and division. Americans have taken media and turned it into a place to form unwanted and biased opinions on current issues of today. Media has been falsified and changed to reach a more cultural and diverse audience. It was made to get the attention of readers, listeners and active web seekers to keep relevant. Mass media is the new form of advertising. It showcases celebrities, products, food, and can be used as an instructional guide. Media can be used to help during the hiring and interviewing process. Many employers used social media to see if a new hire is suitable for the job. Media influences us by providing information that is current and interesting. Thirty years ago, if I told you that the primary means of communicating and disseminating information would be a series of interconnected computer networks you would of thought I was watching Star Trek or reading a science fiction novel. In 2010, the future of mass media is upon us today; the Internet. The Internet is and will only grow in the future as the primary means of delivering news, information and entertainment to the vast majority of Americans. Mass media as we know it today will take new shape and form in the next few years with the convergence and migration of three legacy mediums (Television, Radio, Newspaper) into one that is based on the Internet and will replace these mediums forever changing the face of journalism, media and politics. In this paper I will attempt to explain the transition of print media to one of the internet, how the shift to an internet based media environment will impact journalism and mass media, and how this migration will benefit society and forever change the dynamic of news and politics.
The evolution of media has transformed the way we interpret the world around us. It gives us a new perspective by allowing us to interact with one another through the Internet. Media has become much more personal and diverse as user-generated content becomes more prominent in our lives. We are exposed to assorted types of viewpoints that shape our understanding and knowledge of the social world. Moreover, change in technology has brought advancement to transportation methods, which makes it very easy and fast to go long distances than before. It has also brought change in communication, with the development of the mobile phones, where the communication is now more efficient. Technology has also brought changes in education where students can do online courses, take exams, quizzes, do assignments and even discuss with the classmates the related topic of each week as if you were in the actual classroom. The changes of technology play a big part in the media and how it is used. The technological changes made throughout these time periods have made communication and the media widely spread.
