T-Totals Investigation
Aim
I am investigating the different relationships between the T-total and
T-number of the T-shape by translating it to other positions on the
grid. First I am going to use 9×9 grid then go on to smaller sizes
like 8×8 7×7 6×6 5×5 to investigate whether the size of grid affects
the T-total and T-number. This can be done by rotating it and then use
vectors to find out if there is any relationship if it is translated.

Mr. T is a 48-year-old Korean-American male admitted to Mercy Medical Center for heart palpitations following a call to the Behavioral Health help hotline. As a result of the call to the helpline, the police were called and Mr. T was initially brought to the Emergency Department. He told medical staff he was depressed and had ingested somewhere around 10 Xanax pills. Mr. T has bipolar disorder with possible borderline personality disorder characteristics. He was “nasty” to the staff and refused to give consent to treatment regarding his heart condition, for which he has a pacemaker, as well as any type of psychiatric evaluation.
The scene where the debate team came across the lynching mob stood out the most to me. The whole way the scene was set up was designed so the characters, and the audience would feel a sense of tension. In the “Between Barack and a hard place” by Tim Wise, Wise explains that Obama’s victory or candidate as a president could mean anything where it talks about race debate to new levels. Wise explores the real issues of race in Obama’s campaign and his presidency by citing some arguments and statistics of how the past and the present racism affect people. He states some two questions that arise in the media based on Obama as a nominee as a president. First question: “What does it say about race in AmerIn aica that a black man now stands… the most powerful person in the world?” (Wise 17) Second question: “Is white America really ready for a black president?” (Wise 18) Based on these two questions, it portrays that people’s interrogations means that these are new for people where they had not experienced of having a black president and they do not know what would be the result of it. According to Wise, he asserts that Obama’s victory might signify the end of racism. (Wise 27) It means that some people think that it will end racism since people are open minded or give the chance to the potentiality effective black leadership. Edward Hopper is best known for his paintings depicting city life during the first half of the century. Some of his works, such as Night Hawks, would go on to become pop culture references. One of his paintings, Office in a Small City, at first glance simply depicts a man looking out of his office window, almost as if he is daydreaming but there’s more to it. Office in a Small City is not just a painting of an office worker, it is a critique of Urban living in America. It's a reflection of Hopper's ambivalence towards America's rapid march into modern urbanism, the isolation and loneliness he felt in the face of such changes. A theme that appears in many of Hopper's other paintings and reflects his views on urban living.
The history that is presented in both books, Amusing the Million: Coney Island at the Turn of the Century by John Kasson and All Shook Up: How Rock’n’Roll Changed America by Glenn Altschuler, are very compelling documents that explain how these two eras have changed the course of history. John Kasson argues that the amusement parks of the 1890’s up till the start of WWI had an adverse effect on the culture surrounding it. In the novel Uglies Scott Westerfeld tells the story of Tally, a sixteen year old girl, who learns to see her self-worth. 121 Express is a fiction reflecting Monique Polak’s fascination with the mischief that evolved around the fictional students on the 121 express. In the beginning of the book the reader meets Lucas Samson, the new kid that will be attending Lorne Crest School. In his past, he considered himself a ‘nerd,’ but now he wants to fit in with the ‘cool kids.’ Unlike some kids, he cares about what others think of him. “Teachers help students use assessment as a window into their own growth and identify as learners so, they develop the power and agency necessary to take charge of their learning (Tomlinson, 2010). Summative assessments are a mirror to student thinking. Summative assessments help teachers and students see a trajectory of their learning. Teachers can use them to identify which students are ready for other tasks; and which students need more time to develop specific concepts. The assessment that we administered asked students to answer a series of questions using information from a graph. It also prompted them to create a graph using the results of survey for our field trip. This assessment combined constructed response questions with a meaningful task. “The paper and pencil multiple choice test is not the only way to assess learning. It is a limited way to gain insight into what some students know and are able to do”(Berliner, 2010, p.113).
