Syrian Declaration of Independence

We, the citizens of Syria, have decided to no longer endure the trials of living in a country such as this one. We will successfully overthrow our current abusive government and make this country our own. Our government no longer supports our human rights and because of that we are given right to overthrow it. The reader of this document will be provided with our new choosen rights and given evidence to support our claims for separation.

As a new nation, guidelines need to be set as to what is right and what is wrong. The rights listed below will be granted to every person in Syria no matter where they reside. No exceptions should be made when enforcing these rights. First, everyone is born equal to one another. Everyone will be treated equal no matter race, religion, gender, etc. Second, the people have the right to their government’s protection. Our government will not put their people in the path of danger unless it is essential to do so for their protection. Third, every person has the right to safety. No one can torture, abuse, or physically or emotionally harm us in any way. Fourth, we have the right to freedom. No person or group can enslave a person. Every person can leave our country at any time. Fifth, all people are protected by a just law. A just law treats all people equally and gives everyone the right to a public trial with a jury that has not been swayed in any way towards choosing an opinion. A just law states every person is innocent till proven guilty and no person can be detained sent away from our country without good reason. A just law protects …show more content…
