Syria has reached that stage. The Syrian Revolt has been ongoing since 2011. What started this revolt you ask? Well, it all started with their leader, Bashar Al Assad and his regime repressing the people of Syria with censorship of internet, travel bans, and arrest of political prisoners (Flock, washingtonpost.com). The Syrians thirst for Democracy and America, being as helpful as it is, had some part in it.
Syria’s conflict is an important to talk about because the problem came out from a civil war unlike most genocide like problems coming from wars. The mass killing in Syria should not be considered genocide. Before the government started to wipe out the Sunni, Syria started a civil war. This sparked the reason for the government to start killing the Sunni. They are killing the Sunni because the government believes that the Sunni are going to take over the Assad Family, which would result in the termination of the Alawite rule (Simon 1).
The Syrian civil war began in 2011 and has continued to tear the country apart ever since. It started out as a popular uprising against the regime of Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad. The peaceful protests of the rebel forces were answered with a brutal response from the government. This caused a violent reaction and sent the country of Syria into a full on civil war. The problem is the constant fighting between Assad’s forces and the rebel forces.

Both sides blame each other and no one knows which side used the chemicals. Despite all the destruction that the civil war caused the war is also affecting civilians who are innocent. In the same article Noah also acknowledges “There are some videos of young victims that show people who can barely breathe and twitching and also some interviews with their doctors” This evidence refers to how people are influenced because of the ... ... middle of paper ... ...r the explosion happened the government’s army forces protected us and took care of us also I saw the car who put the bomb near my school and it said Al-Qaeda which is the rebels.
