Web Design
We have come a really long way since the beginning of time. We are so much more advanced in so many ways; one of our advances is our technological knowledge. Because of this knowledge, we can do so many things such as burn CDs, go to outer space, and cure people from different diseases. One very important technological advance is the Internet. Because of the Internet, people today can do things easily. We can communicate through e-mail or instant messaging or we can search for information online through search engines. These search engines were created through web design. Web design has helped us get to where we are today in technology and economy.
The World Wide Web was created in the early 1980s at CERN, a physics laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. Tim Berners-Lee, one man who worked at the CERN, originally wanted to find better ways to circulate the scientific documents and other data electronically among the physics research community around the world. After some time, he finally developed the code for a hypertext server program and made it available on the Internet. The code used was Hypertext markup language (HTML). Although the first browser was only useful to view text documents, we are now able to read these HTML documents and view graphics and other platforms as well using today's web browsers such as Netscape Navigator.
Browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer have helped us to view different documents on the web. Most of these documents are in HTML. This language is very powerful, as it shows in where it brought us today in building web sites. This language includes a set of codes or tags that describe the relationships ...

"The total annual mortality rates due to alcohol-related accidents and health issues are close to 35,000” (“Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse"). This fact explains how many problems come along with alcohol abuse, and tell about health issues and accidents that could be caused by alcohol. Alcohol can be very dangerous and threaten the lives of people even if they are not the one consuming alcohol. Wrecks often happen and kill innocent people as a result of people drinking and driving. There are many alcohol related deaths in the world today whether it is because of drunk driving, or just because someone drank too much and destroyed their liver. Many people think these problems are problems that could easily be avoided if people did not use drinking as a way out of the things in life that are hard. Many people do not realize what they might do when they are drunk, or what it could effect in their life. There is no definite cause of Alcohol Abuse or Alcoholism, though there are many reasons as to why people may drink. Alcohol Abuse can ruin lives, goals, families and many other things for a persons life. Many people do think that when you are of age, alcohol is alright to drink here and there, but many think the hard core liquor should have a limit. Alcohol is not just fun and games or just getting together with friends to "have a few drinks." Having a few drinks can turn into a lot more than fun. Drinking can turn into many other things and could be very bad. Alcohol Abuse is a very big deal, and plays a role in the daily lives of many people. Alcohol Abuse can cause fights in families or with other people, and could ruin a relationship or burn that trust you may have had with someone. Alcohol is abused for many reasons, one of those r...
This essay will discuss the themes in Poe’s writing that mirror his personal life and, in addition, the fear and supernatural motivators for his characters. First, I will discuss Poe’s background and explore how he became best known as a poet for his tales of mystery and macabre.

Throughout the human history, there have been writers that have altered the way society thinks about certain occurrences. Edgar Allan Poe, one of the most prominent writers of the English literature, has the honor of being the one, who smartly linked societal and individual distress to fiction. Poe, because of being the pioneer of the detective fiction, is seen as an influential writer of the nineteenth century. Poe's writing was mostly influenced by his childhood and the societal happenings of the time. Poe's writing was close to reality because his writings were extracted from his own experiences. The paper will discuss the extent to which Poe's writings reflected the horrific events of his own life and it will also serve to establish that he incorporated fear and insanity in his writing only because he had experienced them.
“Men have called me mad; but the question is not yet settled, whether mad is or is not the loftiest intelligence—whether much that is glorious—whether all that is profound—does not spring from disease of thought—from moods of mind exalted at the expense of the general intellect” (Poe); these are the words of a man born on January 19, 1809. As a child Poe’s parents had passed on making him an orphan. He then went on to live with the family of John Allan who was originally from Richmond, Virginia. During the period of 1815-1820, the family migrated to England. Living in England was beneficial to Poe for the reason that he gained his gothic style that appears so frequently in his work from this area. Although prior to his success challenges were in the forefront of his career, Edgar Allan Poe is a well-known poet who has made a huge impact on literature with his intriguing demonic thoughts and lines which are expressed in many of his most famous pieces such as, “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
Edgar Allen Poe is most often recognized, and certainly most famous, for his poem “The Raven” as well as other decidedly dark and often gothic poems and stories, stories such as “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Telltale Heart” “The Cask of Amontillado.” He also wrote many others mostly involving rather macabre, dark topics and characters as well as heavy themes such as insanity, madness, incest, murder and revenge. While this reputation is certainly well earned there is another side of Poe that is not quite so obvious. Poe was also a master of humor, especially in the use of parody and satire. One might ask how is it that a writer with such an inclination towards the darker side of humanity can possibly write humorously, and do it with such skill. Poe’s brand of humor is decidedly different than that which the mainstream contemporary audience is used to and can readily understand, but it is there if one cares to look closely. The style of Poe’s humor is not like that of the mainstream humorous writers in that he does not use the common comic strategies, but he instead “was able to turn his wit on the masses of society or their rulers with trenchantly satiric effect” by creating situations so ridiculous and outrageous that it becomes hysterical (Budd 133). Or as John Bryant says “he was a satirist specializing in burlesque, parody, and hoax. Humor was not his style, nor benevolence his manner; … Poe’s barbed humorous stories are driven by caricature rather than character” (88). Some of Poe’s more humorous stories are “How to Write a Blackwood Article,” and “A Predicament,” and maybe not so obviously “The Murders in the Rue Morgue.”
Agile software development is a group of software development methods based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams. It promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development and delivery, a time-boxed iterative approach, and encourages rapid and flexible response to change.
The internet is the best way to communicate with others. According to John Deighton in 1996, there were 35 million users online. Which is nothing compared to now. On June 30, 2012, a group call the Miniwatts Marketing Group there were 2,405,518,378 people on the internet, 1,076,518,378 users came from Asia alone! (Internet Usage Statistics). The internet is basically a communication system created by a network of computers (History of the Internet) and was invented in the year 1957 (Clare Suddath). It wasn't very popular until Mark Andreessen created the modern web browser which allowed the sharing of files (History of the Internet) and at the time it was only used by select universities and the United States military (Something Ventured). It grew in popularity in the 90's when websites like yahoo came to be. The internet has changed America and the world for the better because it made communication easier in education, business, with friends and families, and overseas.
Web design has a very young history is similar to other areas such as graphic design and computer science. Although web design is also seen as both. It has made a huge impact in people’s everyday lives. It is very difficult to see a Internet without pictures, different types of themes, and music. Since 2000 and later the web has become much more integrated into people's daily lives, There have also been significant changes in the way people view and access websites, this has changed how sites are programmed and designed.
For the last 10 years the web has reinvented itself. Moving from static HTML pages filled with information to interactive information portals, where massive amounts of people contribute to improve each other and spread knowledge.
For an effective education creativity needs to be present within all aspects of a primary classroom. So what does it mean to be ‘creative’? According to Sir Ken Robinson “creativity is the process of having original ideas which have value”. Creativity can be demonstrated through the use of technology, problem solving experiments and allowing children the freedom to explore and express new ideas. It is very important to ensure a child can get the best creative education; this is because creativity will give the necessary skills needed for our future. Children must become creative problem solvers if they are in leadership positions as this will help them within society, even though all children may not be in a leadership position it is beneficial for them to have a creative mind-set. Because the world we live in is constantly developing new ideas, concepts and technology, creativity is definitely the most important quality a child can have. Sir Ken Robinson’s, (an international advisor on education) views on creativity in education will be discussed along with New Labour views which includes the National Advisory Committee on Creative and Cultural Education (NACCCE). The 1977 white paper, the open plan for schools, and the 2003 excellence and enjoyment strategy concepts will also be drawn on.
To anyone born in the 90s or later, the World Wide Web (WWW or Web) has been a part of their life forever. They could not imagine a world without it; although, only a year before the 90s started, did the WWW come into existence. People had been living without the use of the WWW since before 1989, and everyone born after 1989 has grown up with the use of the WWW. The WWW has changed the way society works in a variety of ways. Not long ago was written letters the way of communication, which could take up to a week to respond, but with the help of the WWW, anyone can send an email with a response coming back in as little as a couple of hours. This is just one of the various ways the WWW has affected the United States.
The development and design of a basic web page can be a fun yet tricky task. Whether it’s a large commercial web page for business purposes, or a small personal web page about your hobby or family; the process of development is the same. The three major steps leading to the development and design of a basic web page include: information gathering, site layout and design, and HTML (hyper text markup language) conversion.
The internet is getting bigger and faster everyday, an individual can log on to the internet and buy sell or trade anything, the world wide web can bring the world into your home where anything can be looked up to learn or to amuse. Computer chips are being put in a wide range of things today, from appliances to cell phones to automobiles; an owner can now have their automobile checked for any problems while they are driving down the road via a satellite and find out if they should go in to have it repaired.
