One example of symbolism that can be found in movies is in the 1964 political satire Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. This movie follows the events that unfold after an insane Air Force general sends a major attack out against the U.S.S.R. because of his fear of communism. Part of this plays out in the “War Room”, where the president and his advisors discuss the course of action they should take. One of the movie’s biggest symbols is in this room—the large circular table and the circle of lamps above.
