INTRODUCTION
This report will discuss the history, company philosophy with the mission statement, code of ethics, community service, and customer service of Tyson Foods, Inc. This report will also cover products and employees benefits, along with some financial information of Tyson Foods.
COMPANY INFORMATION
History
In 1931, John Tyson got his start in the chicken business as a delivery man. In 1935, John Tyson decided to start a business in the chicken industry in a town in Arkansas. It started out as a small, private, family business that dealt with raising chickens. It later changed into a business that dealt with the chicken that is eaten as food. In 1963, Tyson’s son decided to take the company public and it became Tyson Foods, Inc.
Since then, Tyson Foods, Inc. has grown into a huge company. To go along with their chicken, Tyson Foods has branched out into the beef and pork industries as well. Today, they are continuing to grow and improve as a company (Heritage Our Story, 2013).

Tyson wants to be sure to have the best products they can, so they have many guidelines for the farms where they get their animals. Tyson Foods has a lot of great incentives and benefits for their employees. They offer many different kinds of insurance and classes to help employees farther their career. They train all of their employees so they know what they are doing and can produce great products. Tyson Foods operates in the billions of dollars and makes millions of dollars every year. They are a very successful business and are continuing to work to be more successful. The company was started in Arkansas, and they are staying to their roots by having their headquarters in the same place. Overall, Tyson Foods is a great company.
According to Tyson Foods, Tyson was established in the 1930s during the Great Depression by John W. Tyson. He began hand-delivering chicken to make a living. During World War II, the demands of poultry grew, and as a result Tyson Foods prospered by feeding off the immense wartime demands. The company was passed down from father to son, rustled its way to becoming a diverse food company, and reached prodigious growth in the 1980s. Tyson has maintained a familial lineage within its company and along with its historic ties and donations to hunger and disaster reliefs, has gained great support throughout the years. Overall, it seems as though Chick-fil-A there are several main reasons that Chick-fil-A seems to continue to thrive and be successful. One reason has to do with how much the company makes their brand known and supports their brand. Another reason is that the company solely focuses on the product of chicken related products. Lastly, it seems as though Chick-fil-A’s community involvement keeps people coming back to eat and support Chick-fil-A overall. It will be interesting to see what journey

Chipotle competitive advantage or Strengths has come from the ingredients that come from sustainable sources. According to the MarketLine article about Chipotle Mexican Grill SWOT analysis "Chipotle serves food using naturally raised meat (pork, beef and chicken) and dairy cattle... in 2014 the company served over 155 million pounds of naturally raised meat." Chipotle cares for their customers because they are not giving us food that has hormones and addictive substances. The fast food restaurant industry, which includes quick-service and fast-casual restaurants, is highly segmented with the top 50 companies accounting for only 25% of the industry’s sales. The $120 billion industry includes over 200,000 restaurants with 50% of those specializing in hamburger entrees. (hoovers.com 2008) The major competitors in the industry include McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, and KFC – Chick-fil-A’s major competitor in chicken sales. Chick-fil-A’s unique position in the market, specializing in chicken-based entrées, has lead to a competitive advantage which the company has been able to capitalize on. Recently, many competitors have added chicken entrees in order to compete in the market segment. Through marketing strategies and company initiatives, Chick-fil-A has tried to stay distant from competitors, offering a fresh alternative to the ordinary fast food restaurant.
They seem to be a company that enjoys their employee’s success. It is a great reflection on the company that so many people seem to enjoy their position at Whole Foods and feel like that are making a positive impact on both Whole Foods and the customers. Any company that focuses on self-motivation is going to be a winning company. This helps them build dedication and loyalty to their brand by giving those who work the hardest the most opportunities. They have been ranked as one of the top 100 places to work in America by Fortune since the list was created in 1998(WholeFoodsMarket.com).

The implementation of the BSC can lead an organization to achieving goals that would not have been possible or even realized until the four perspectives have been analyzed. By researching the BSC and the factors within the company, Tyson Food has discovered they do not have the best reputation with customers for ethical poultry farming (Peta, 2016). Through that understanding, the company can set improving the company image as an attainable goal. In this, the BSC has given direct benefits to Tyson Food, Inc. Biblical Integration The balanced scorecard is a strategy in which organizations can sort out their faults and weaknesses and work to make them stronger.
To most consumers Whole Foods is known as a chain grocery store specializing in organic and natural foods. Some may go as far as say the name is synonymous with quality. This comparison is the result of Whole Foods’ marketing their brand successfully to consumers demanding their specialized foods. As with any organization, Whole Foods may consider evaluating their strategic objectives and decide if necessary course corrections are needed to reach their objectives and goals. Through a fundamental and technical analysis, I will discuss Whole Foods’ mission, vision, and goals, their competitive environment, and some factors within their strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat analysis. With such data and information I will recommend, if needed, and strategic changes in order to sustain a competitive advantage.
Arthur W. Perdue’s quest for excellence in the poultry business began in 1917. Perdue started his company as a table-egg poultry farm. He slowly expanded his egg market by adding a new chicken coop every year. Arthur’s son Frank joined the family business in 1939 after leaving school at the end of his the second year. In 1950 Frank took over leadership of Perdue Farms, which had over 40 employees at the time.
They bought Showell Farms, Inc. in January 1995 which should boost revenue to $2 billion and the number of associates to about 20,000
