Competitive intensity is surging in automobile industry and all the car companies are making strategies to increase their sales and bring new car models in the market so that they can attract the consumers and increase their market share and become the market leaders. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai still managed to increase in volumes but it’s not working for other companies like Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Ford, General Motors, Tata Motors and Toyota. Honda vs Maruti In 2008, Maruti Swift Dzire was launched and till now its been ruling the sedan segment from a big margin from its competitors but Honda has launched its Honda Amaze and this willspice up the competition and finally Maruti Swift Dzire has a strong competitor. All the factors like looks that maybe exterior or interior, Engine Specification, Features, Mileage, diesel model and the price play an important role for Honda Amaze in competing with Maruti Swift Dzire. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) In 2000, M&M launched a UV-Bolero which was considered to be rough but was provided at a lower price and then years later came a sophisticated UV by M&M which was actually a SUV-Scorpio which till now is running successfully on the roads and when M&M launched XUV-500, it actually stole the show and hit the streets. It’s actually difficult to compete against M&M in utility vehicle segment though Renault’s Duster, Ford’s Ecosport are driving strong competitors of M&M. Volkswagen and Nissan to General Motors and Toyota is lining up UV’s coming year. But till now M&M has the highest share in UV segment so there is a tough competition in this segment. Luxury car competition As the Indian market is dominated by small cars, the competition between luxury car segments is also rising. There are three German auto giants- BMW AG, Audi AG and Mercedes-Benz in India where they are tough competitors to each other and each car makers are introducing new models, offering customized interest rates and opening new showrooms in smaller cities to attract the customers.
