There are three separate representative groups in the movie ‘X-men’. However, there is only one group, called the ‘X-men’, that are superheros. The X-men’s founder is Professor X, who wants to protect mutants and make a world where the mutants live together with normal people. Thus, this Superhero group’s goal is to save the world from the war that breaks out between mutants & non-mutants. Through the X-men, we can see and analyze the group goals, cohesion, the importance of leadership, and even family system. And I think that having the same goal is one of the most important factor for this Superhero group. In Marvel Universe, they explain that the X-men are “heroic mutants, individuals born with special powers who’ve sworn to use their gifts …show more content…

Except the professor X, there are four main hero characters; Wolverine, Dr. Jean, Storm, and Cyclops. As specifically, Professor X is can read and control the minds and memories of humans as well as by telepathy. Also, He can stop everyone in the space when and who he wants, and even can locate and coordinate the locations of the world's mutants. Dr. Jean Jean is capable of telepathy, but less capable than X. However, she is the only mutation that can be done with psychokinesis and has infinity psychic powers. Storm can observe and control all the weather, such as thunder, lightning, wind, rain, snow, storm, fog, tornadoes, etc. Cyclops can use optical blasts to fire lasers in their eyes. However, he needs an object like a special pair of glasses to control the power of force. And lastly, Wolverine is a man who is not naturally born as other mutant, but being an artificial mutation and having a superhero’s ability through the humans’ experiment at a laboratory. Each member has a different individual’s ability, characteristic, or past experiences when they were not joined the X-men. However, currently, they are living together, relying on each other as a family. And they play a role as a Superhero and save the world. Of course, the situation and the group that I faced were vastly different from the hero group, but this activity helped me better understand the relationship and role of the Hero group. At the first day of class, we did a group activity, the Scavenger Hunt. In this activity, I was being a member of group just with the order of the number. The each group was formed of six members and tasked with finding objects that answered each question. Our group was made up of people who didn't know each other. Our gender, nationality, inclination, and major were not the same. We made light conversation, but our conversation was mostly focused on the mission. So we did not even share our names. However, we shared our idea and makes the best decision together and also, we shared roles in each question. In this process of work, we know a little bit about each other and also have a sense of responsibility for their role in this group. But I think the most important thing what we could find the group factor in this activity is the same goal. We had a very exact and definite goal that was competing with other groups and winning in that competition. Thus, perhaps not only me but also other group members felt the sense of camaraderie through competition with other teams. If we had no such goal, our conversation would continue and we could play our role with responsibility? Like a Superhero group
