In the feature article "The Destruction of Childhood," the author, Langdon Winner, explains the brutal childhood of many children living in Third World Countries. The author points out several facts and surveys done many groups such as United Nations that show some 78 million children between the ages of 5 to 14 were in engaged in some sort of manner of child labour. It is pointed out that advocates of the free market are in the belief that once families overcome poverty, child labour will not exist.
