Be Empathetic
Through the realization of the positives and negatives of globalization, we show empathy to those that are affected. Globalization allows for international trade but has also helped the world to be connected. Globalization helps the world in some positive aspects but since countries are so intertwined it makes it easier for those countries to outsource jobs. The outsourcing of those jobs means that they send jobs out to developing countries for cheaper production and cost. In a way, this can hurt developing countries because they don’t receive appropriate working conditions that developed countries should provide them with. We tried to show the different settings that both the worker and the company man live in, the setting of the worker shows a very different setting from the company who tries to help him. We show how the worker lives in a poor living condition and the man lived in this beautiful setting with a blue sky. Besides the two men we have a third man who is just standing and not doing anything because he is seeing through his glasses images of money because that’s all he sees and does not see anything else. With our work, we tried to show empathy in a way our audience could see the difference between the ones who want to help and the ones who don’t. The article “Empathy The Bridge to Understanding” by Jaqueline Lapa Sussman states that “With empathy, we attain knowledge of others through direct personal awareness of their experience. Empathy penetrates deeper than reason, allowing us to acquire knowledge through the senses and the heart, not merely through the mind”(Sussman). In order to get a deeper understanding of one another, people need to have compassion towards each other so they are able to see what the other person is going through.
