As a portion of our grade in Ms. Martin’s People Skills course, our class was asked to read a “Self-Help” from the lessons provided, be able to tell how those lessons can be applied to our lives and personal development. The book I chose for the assignment was “Awaken the Giant Within” by Tony Robbins. This was probably not the best choice of books for this particular assignment since this book requires much additional time and dedication to its reading than what can be done in an assignment timeframe. The book happens to be exceptionally long, and I knew that when I made my choice, however, I did not realize that it was not just one of those sit down and read books. This book needs to be a companion to your everyday life, and I’m afraid that my report will not provide it justice, since I’m still reading and absorbing the material. Reading this book has helped with decisions concerning what’s truly imperative for my life goals and what I aspire to achieve. My family and I have made certain serious decisions concerning how our life is shaping and where changes need to be. Following the six steps to change, deciding what’s sincerely required and what’s preventing us from having it should be our first priority. What’s truly desired is happiness together and a full life without burdens and disappointments, right? Don’t each of us crave that? Massive pain by not changing now and pleasure with changing should be experienced. Stepping up and accomplishing something regarding our situation instead of putting off adjustments continuously is essential. Interrupt the limiting patterns and create a fresh, empowering alternative, followed by conditioning the replacement pattern until it is consistent and lastly, test
