Innovators are always taking in information from different sources. They are confident enough to experiment with different things. They make the highest number of financial transactions and are skeptical about advertising. They are future oriented and self-directed consumers. They believe science and R&D are credible and are most receptive to new ideas and technologies. They enjoy the challenge of problem solving and have a wide variety of interests and activities. Strivers have revolving employment which makes them temporarily unemployed at times. They use video games and video as a form of fantasy. They are fun-loving, imitative and rely heavily on public transportation. They are the centerpiece of low-status street culture and desire to better themselves but have problems realizing this. The Innovators are attracted to this restaurant because of the variety of different types of food on the menu as well as the 40 plus beers on tap and in the bottle. They enjoy the menu items like Chargrilled Ribeye or for a more healthy choice, the Simply Grilled Salmon. The Strivers are attracted to the cheap lunch menu as well as some of the burgers and salads on the menu. They also like the selection of 40 plus beers and the daily specials that run every day. I would use public relations to market to the group because they are skeptical of any advertising or flyers. Public relations marketing is very cost effective and can get the message out to the masses. Normally this group is confident to experiment with new things so I will invite them to try some of the different items on the menu like some of the specials that are featured daily. One item is the Southern-Fried Catfish or the Chicken Enchiladas. I would focus on the variety of beers that they carry and have them select a different one when they come in. Since they are not too trusting on advertising and how it brings in people, I would run specials on the different appetizers like 5.99 Bacon Cheese Fries or Buy the Combo and get an order of Frickles for

Richard believes that his vision for the company, a two-tiered concept with a top microbrewery producing fresh, quality beer and a chain of brewpubs, has potential. However, due to the more complex nature of running a restaurant, he believes that the company has yet to figure out how to run its restaurant business profitably.
The fast-casual restaurant is one of the most competitive and fastest growing industries in the world. Chipotle has thought to have reinvented this category and this has led to their explosive growth in the early stages of the company. As it has leveled off, however, one can see where mistakes have been made leading to the sharp decline in their sales and stock. Starbucks has continued to grow, but has also seen declines in their stock. Comparing these companies, one can see how each have went from standalone stores to market leading companies. They must continue to innovate otherwise they will be seen as just another restaurant and no longer see growth.
Antoine’s’ is one of the oldest family ran restaurants in the USA.[] It was established in 1840, by Antoine Alciatore a French immigrant. His main inspiration was to bring a little bit of his home to New Orleans. Rather than inspire with a forward-looking mission that is inclusive, they continue to re-establish that the organization has had this checkered past. Their mission lacks aspiration and inspiration, and it frankly takes the organization nowhere. It fails to account for one of their biggest stakeholders, the actual customers at their restaurants. While their website is attractive and has many elements which do create affinity with their customers, their company mission fails to connect any of those dots in a meaningful way. Sadly, the founder’s quote was more inspirational but is far from the operating reality of their stated organizational

The main consumer characteristic that Cracker Barrel Old Country Store sets their standards on is “Pleasing people”. (Etzel, Walker, Stanton. 2001 pg. 204) A review of the Cracker Barrel Old Country store states, “This restaurant has a combo of good food, good service, and atmosphere. The gift shop is trendy, and affords one a place to browse. Do your browsing after the meal, for service is fast and efficient. One dines among country antiques that serve as decor. The country plates are a delight, and one must try the daily specials. Don't order dessert if you're not hungry. The blackberry cobbler and lemon icebox pie are superb. This is home cooking with affordable prices and great atmosphere.” (http://stlouis.citysearch.com/profile/3855636) Cracker Barrel stores appeal to both the traveler and the local customer and have consistently been a consumer favorite. Cracker Barrel was ranked as the top family dining chain for the eleventh consecutive year in the 2000 Restaurants & Institutions magazine "Choice in Chains" annual customer survey. It was also named “Best Family Dining” restaurant by Restaurant & Institutions magazine for the tenth consecutive year. The R&I award is based on a national consumer survey that evaluates chains on seven separate attributes: food quality, menu variety, value, service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and convenience. For 2000, Cracker Barrel scored highest among family dining establishments on every one of the attributes.
The Santa Fe Grill is a relatively new Mexican restaurant that was started by two former business students from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The idea sparked after the two roommates who were both interested in pursuing entrepreneurial interests decided that a Mexican restaurant in their city would be highly successful. While taking an entrepreneur class at the University, the plan for the business began coming together. Their main focus was to create a restaurant that would feature the freshest ingredients, as well as a lively atmosphere, cutting edge advertising and marketing, plus exceptional service for customers. (Research Methods, Pg. 19) By doing so, the students hoped that they could fulfill their dreams of ownership.
*These four old guys (definitely into their late sixties, early seventies) sell cars at one of the dealerships on the boulevard. I would bet fifty dollars that they all work for Cadillac. They come in once a week, on Friday afternoons. They love me. They like to give me a hard time, ask why I don’t love them anymore, when I’m going to run away with them, etc, etc. They are caricatures of car salesmen but are obviously unaware of this. They hold court in Eat Well like it’s 1965 at the Sands, talking in loud voices and telling stories about one another to each other. (“This guy here, one time he says to me, ‘Paulie’…”)
Through the Cochon Restaurant, Link was able to bring a slice of rural Louisiana to the city in New Orleans. Innovation is an important aspect of business today. It is important for companies to be innovative in order to stay competitive with their competitors. Innovation can come in different forms depends on the company’s objective. KFC, one of the most popular fast-food restaurants by the Yum! Brands, chooses to be innovative for their business model. Although, there is a huge amount of fast food chain available in the global market, KFC found the key to stand out from the intense competitive environment. By expanding the business to China, KFC learned unprecedented success by being different, not by being the same. The company’s business model is all about adapting to the local culture and understanding the needs of the Chinese market. Three main innovative strategies of KFC in China are localizing the menu, understanding the Chinese culture, and hiring local management.
The United States of America, a country where anyone can become anything he or she wants to be. It is even given the phrase “Land of opportunity.” This is one of the reasons people from different parts of the world choose to immigrate to the United States. Immigrants do not immigrate alone, but bring their cultures with them. One of the representatives of culture is food, and with the vast amount of immigrants, the vast amount of ethnic restaurants are introduced. Beneficial things happened with the rise of ethnic restaurants, they serve as a doorway to introduce different cultures and they improve the country’s economy. Some people disagree and believe that ethnic restaurants are a problem. That they lead to cultural separation because it
