Personal Success Personal success can mean a variety of different things to a person whether it is obtaining money or completing a lifelong goal. To obtain personal success no matter what it may be it is critical to be confident, have willpower, and be yourself. To be successful people need to be confident in their work and themselves. Confidence can go a long way; it can also tie in with trust. For example, a technician comes across a problem with a car that is difficult to diagnose but the technician has come across this same problem before. The service manager has to trust the technician that has to be confident in their decision about what will fix the car. Suppose the technician was not confident about the solution, the service manager …show more content…
Most people call having money or worldly possessions successful and they can make a person happy but will not last forever. To me personal success is when I have a house and a job that I love going to every day, I refuse to be one of those people that wakes up every day dreading going to work. My goal is to become a good technician and it is something I love doing, I always have fun at work. I may get aggravated at a certain job or car but I am something that I love doing and I will always love what I do no matter if it is a bad day or a good day. I absolutely refuse to go to work and hate it. I pity people that do but that was their choice and it could have been prevented. Another thing that contributes to a person 's success is the influences that they have been exposed to over their entire life can and will affect how they make decision in their life, also what a person does with those influences will depict the conclusion. For example, say that a child grew up in a bad situation with their home life, their parents were either strung out on drugs or become alcoholics, the child that lives in the situation could take it in two different ways. One way the child can take it as a bad one, they could see that their parents maybe did not work and they were on drugs, so that the child will think that is alright to do drugs and not work. The second way the situation would influence the child in a good way. The child would make the right see that their parents may not have decisions. The child would strive to do better than what their parents did
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves” (William Shakespeare). The fate of one’s life is determined by the actions and decisions they make over time. Success is not predetermined from the moment an individual is born. The choices in life can determine if an individual will rise to the top or fall to the bottom. “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell is an non-fiction story that reveals how much time and effort is required to achieve mastery at anything. David Epstein explains that success depends on the fortunate genetics in a person in the non-fiction excerpt “The Sports Gene.” The text from the “Outliers” supplies credible sources and evidence to support the idea that hard work and preparation results in success while the sports
This paper explores the factors involved in success in the teaching field regardless of the environment. The information is based on the interview of current teacher Jane Satrom and her experience with a variety of adversities as a long time educator such as attending professional learning community (PLC) and department planning period (DPP) meetings. Her responses to various questions are compared to written advice for success in the college textbook Peak Performance: Success in College and Beyond in order to verify which skills and strategies are necessary in order to succeed. Major themes discussed are self-control, motivation, time management, and goal setting as used to succeed in the classroom. There are varying perspectives in the definition
To give my personal philosophy of success I would first have to define “success”. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. My success philosophy that I plan on implementing from now on is accepting personal responsibility for the good and bad choices I make. There will be time when I need to focus on school and worry less about my free time. If I have a test to take I have to study for that test to get a good grade and continuous good grades will help me pass the course. I can’t depend on anyone else to do my work for me I’m personally responsible for completing my assignments and turning them in on time. When the weekend comes around and all I do is procrastinate by telling myself I’ll study later. The smart thing to do about this situation would be to think wise and use my time-management strategies. I’ll always have time for myself, so sacrificing some free time now is well worth it. This helps me to be a creator and not the victim about things and keeping up with the self-management strategy. The success strategies that I will use will help my learning style, self-management and self-responsibility. Most people believe success is just having lots of money, cars, and women but I believe success is an individual sport and I have to be ready to play because the outcome of my performance is based on the work I put into it.
Every day we study and work to seek success. Everybody want to be successful, but not everybody know how to achieve success. There are a lot of elements that affect success. Usually people think that success is come from individual thing, such as 10,000 hours of practice and motivation. Those factors are personal responsibility, they are the factors in people’s hand that can make success .Actually there are other factor that is outside of our control, but really affect our opportunities and success. According to Malcolm Gladwell, Carol Dweck and Daniel Pink; I found that these uncontrollable factors are ecology, growth mindset, Matthew effect and cultural legacy can have a positive effect on opportunities and success.
Success Everyone’s vision of success differs. Wealth, happiness, and fame are all the stereotypical aspirations of the common person’s so-called “American Dream.” My American dream encompasses more of the first two aspects than anything else. Happiness is the most important; without happiness, wealth and fame are useless. Without happiness, success cannot exist; it is your own personal gauge of accomplishment.
Over thousands of years people have been driven by success, but what is success? Success to me is the ability to perform at your highest level in the path in life that you take. I believe that if you are not driven to be the very best at the things you do then it is not a calling. There are plenty of opportunities in life and you should take everyone you get. Success is a word that is on a broad spectrum, there is no single definition to the word. I define what success is for me. There is no set image of success, success is also constantly changing. The word success means achieving what I want to do in life, and to prosper in the situations my life has put me in.
Happiness, what is it, and why do we strive to achieve it so persistently? Happiness in some points of view is portrayed as the state that is derived from self-awareness of a benefiting action or moment taking place. What of the moments that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a little glimmer of light shining from the deep recesses of our own consciousness? Plucking it from a mere moment, achieved from money, or is it so much more, happiness is the precipice that all strive to gain to better perceive their success. As a person lives, they are in a constant struggle to be happy. For instance, even the United States Constitution makes reference to the idea that every person has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. This was the resulting outcome of the enlightenment from France, spilling out into the rest of the world from 1650 through 1800. This revolutionized the idea that every single person has the inalienable right to happiness or in different views the right to succeed. As to how one peruses or conjures their happiness that is an entirely different concept and completely up to their preferred preference, but it is something that a person needs to find on their own for true success.
In current times, success seems to determine everything about an individual. One of the main reasons people go to school is to grow up and become successful. Success is the reason anyone does anything. Whether it be a small or large-scale success does not matter. A person might make a sandwich to succeed in fighting off hunger, or a basketball team might take time to watch more film and spend time together as a team to succeed in winning a championship. Either way success motivates people. The question that goes with it is, was I successful? If one says yes, then they ask why? The answer almost always includes some amount of preparation. Because a success without prior preparation is uncommon. No matter what, we humans strive
My Personal Philosophy of Success Where do I want to go? What do I want to see in my future? These are questions that I made to myself toward success. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary success is defined as result, degree or measure of succeeding, favorable or desired outcome. “Colloquial term used to describe a person that has achieved his or her personal, financial or career goals” defined Business dictionary.
