Since money is a big part of this world, the chance to save some is always welcome. I alas chose to take dual credit because I knew that the class would challenge me and cause me to adapt to the type of work related to college life. This would help prepare me for college and simultaneously make me more intelligent for my test in the real world. These things added to my decision to take dual credi... ... middle of paper ... ..., but also a harder worker. I hope to be a worker who is persistent and never gives up.
Due to missing school, I had failed various classes, putting me behind and at risk for not graduating high school or on time, with my class. Toward the end of the year, I made a proclamation that I was going to graduate high school and go to college, no matter what. So, I enrolled in an alternative program, which saved my life. I worked very hard to earn the credits I needed to graduate through the alternative high school program. On average a student usually completes 12 credits per year, I was behind in credits and needed to make up credits so I attended classes everyday all day, did homework every night, attended extra after school classes to complete 34 credits in 2 years.

For the past 8 years, I have worked with at-risk students in nontraditional schools. Often, over ninety percent of my students qualified for free or reduced lunch, and they were all at my school for failing classes. Credit recovery programs became their last chance to graduate in a timely manner. My primary objective was to figure out how to help learners who struggle with significant educational deficits and push them through all the standards at double the pace of a regular classroom. Until recently, my schools have had no sports programs, no music programs, no journalism programs, and precious few electives.

“A good education is a foundation for a better future.” ~ Elizabeth Warren. The reasoning behind why I want to go to college is to better my future. I am considered one of the first generation in my family to go to college, putting a lot of meaning behind why I believe I should go on to a different path. From a very young age I have always held high expectations of myself, even of the numerous changes in careers I had obtained an interest in. I have always envisioned myself going to college because I certainly value education.
Therefore I have had plenty of time to prepare and think of all the outcomes that could happen even the bad ones and the great ones. Furthermore my family has always been expecting me to pursue this college career for a long while which has helped tremendously in preparing them to accept that I am taking the initiative in my life and pursuing college. I have always been worried that online learning was going to be difficult for me considering I struggled to get good grades in high school. I have found that I may have found my niche in taking schooling and it happened to be what I was most scared about, online classes. I have taken online college classes in the past which has shown me the ways of online learning and has helped me develop a few patterns and habits to help me better understand online classes.
