Recommended: The role of a pharmacist

I feel completely helpless. I see others suffering around me and there is nothing I can do about it. I always ask myself, “What is my purpose in this world?” I know what I must do to find out. To overcome my feeling of helplessness, I plan to attend The Ohio State University for pharmacy.
My course of study I plan on majoring in is pharmacy. I plan on enrolling in courses for this major at The Ohio State University. Afterwards, I plan on becoming a pharmacist. The first steps in this process I must take are to research and educate myself about the program and the campus.
PHARMACY
In order for myself to become a pharmacist, I must know how to do specific things. Pharmacists need to know how to do administrative tasks. These tasks would include completing insurance forms, keeping records of patients and inventory, meeting legal requirements for dispensing procedures, monitoring the security of controlled substances and the disposal of hazardous waste, and hiring and supervising employees and interns (Pharmacists, Overview). Other occupational tasks specific to pharmacists include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, and communicating with their patients, such as advising them about dosage, side effects, and drug interactions, and answering any questions the patient might have. More of these tasks include preparing sterile equipment, maintaining proper procedures, compounding medications, ordering drugs, and many others (Pharmacists, Task List).
Post-secondary education is necessary in order to become a pharmacist. According to the free dictionary, the definition for post-secondary is, “Education beyond the secondary level, especially education at the college or university level” (Post-secondary). This does not necessarily refer ...
