Study of Varndean e-Learning Introduction to the Company, (Overview) Varndean e-Learning is a small educational software company based in a school. The people who run the company were all at one stage teachers at Varndean School. Their company was formed in 2001, when the directors wrote some software to help their students with GNVQ ICT. They Still work from a small office within the school, where they develop software and take orders over the phone. All of their software is thoroughly tested on students from Varndean School before it is marketed as they believe it must be appealing and value the views of the students. They run Sales Seminars in London and Birmingham three times a year where they demonstrate the software to large groups of people on a large screen. They also run Training Sessions three times a year in London and Birmingham where teachers from many schools who use the software go to learn how to use it. Varndean e-Learning may only be a small company now, but they have many plans for the future, which include spreading out into other areas of the School Curriculum and developing software for them to aid the student's learning. In the past, college graduates would embark on careers in the business world with book learned business theory. Now the college curriculum can include practical use of real world situations in a web-paged virtual organization. This virtual organization allows students experience to review, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve real business problems. I think that our course project should address a strong pain point of the market for which customers will be highly interested. The team and the people that we know (our network) are certainly crucial for the success of the project as at this point especially; it is our core means for the success of our goals. Over the years society has changed in many different ways. In particular, technology has been the largest change that has occurred over the year. Only a few years ago the iPhone came out and it has forever changed the way people view their phone. Internet has also become very assessable resource. There are places everywhere to access a computer or free Wi-Fi. These changes have led to the alteration of the accessibility and use of technology in the education setting. The changes made to technology in the education setting have led to many positive outcomes that have allowed many types of people access to education that could not get it prior. There are however, many critics that refute these changes and say that virtual education can be biased and expensive. Although, there are many critics that do not agree with technology in education, have this can give access to many students with disabilities as well as people who have limited time or ability to further an education.

The approach that is being taken to create web-based courses is to create websites that will function as the central distributors of information and materials. Based on the format and content of the course, the student is to go through lesson by lesson to complete courses. In this paper, I address some of the problems inherent in this approach, especially with respect to 18-22 year-old undergraduate education.
