Based on observations, many have seen that student's have expectations that one must abide by in order to comply to what is considered the norm. Therefore, by enforcing school uniforms it can lessen the conflicts among students. Certainly, school uniforms should be enforced in a high school setting because it reduces fighting and violence, promotes good discipline, and eliminates distractions. Firstly, school uniforms should be enforced in a high school setting because it reduces fighting and violence. School uniforms do decrease fighting and violence that emerges out of confrontations over fancy clothing.
Some people feel as clothing is a relatively minor issue when it comes to education. Others may feel they have to compete with the most recent designer fashion look of other students. Many people believe wearing uniforms will improve the educational environment. School uniforms should be required in public schools to help improve student involvement in academics, less violence, and boost student self- esteem. Students should have to wear uniforms
School Uniform? All around the world, many schools ranging from elementary to high school enforce a dress code for the students. Many people everywhere, including parents and the students, disapprove of the use of uniforms for a number of reasons. At the same time, many school officials will argue of the improvements in education and performances brought in from the schools due to implementing school uniforms. Even though many students dislike the idea of having to wear only certain approved clothing every day, supporters of uniforms hold value in the improvements uniforms brings into education; ultimately, varying opinions about school uniforms deserve to be respected.
Another way of... ... middle of paper ... ...s feel they are being stripped of individuality that is very crucial to their development into adulthood. The students are being forced to mold into one certain ideal picture that is not a real reality. People see uniforms as a way to prevent peer pressure and bullying, but in reality clothing is not going to stop any of this because there are other factors that play a part in both of these problems. These factors include make-up, hairstyles, and the things one student might say to another. The last factor in the cons of school uniforms would be the cost.
On the other hand, it works against families that cannot afford the high prices that come with bringing uniforms into schools. Student’s freedom of expression also comes into play as I do feel it is important for students to be able to express themselves. There is no compromise for this issue as it is either have the students wear uniforms or don’t. But a compromise for economic can be the schools requiring cheap uniforms instead of expensive ones or forcing students to embed the logo on all of their shirts. This debate will not come to an end anytime
If students become apathetic about attending school, they will reap the consequences of a poor education and, in turn, will not attain a degree. The question, though, is not so much as how do we make them [students] go to school, but why are they not attending school? Many would answer that these particular students are delinquents or the stereotype that children and teens despise school, but, the issue may be more complex that that. Bullying and clothing choices may or may not have something to do with lack of attendance. In this case, uniforms could greatly improve attendance records due to the roadblock uniforms put in place between issues at school and lack of attendance.
The debate over whether or not to enforce school uniforms has become a major problem in today’s schools. Schools are full of judgment and bullying between peers, which negatively affect many aspects within the school. Some believe wearing uniforms can have negative effects towards students such as the loss of self-individualism and the encouragement of conformity. School uniforms promote academic achievement and support the fight in eliminating bullying, which outweigh the cons, making school uniforms the best decision for schools. School uniforms promote academic achievement to students in many ways.
Students that are less worried about their fashion will tend to be more focused on their school work as Helen Woods states, “Research studies included in this research shows that parents have opinions favoring a uniform dress code with the two foremost reasons being competitiveness among the children and their peers to wear the latest designer fashions…” (Woods 1992). School uniforms would remove the friction between students that do not wear the style clothes that fit in with their peers. Students that cannot wear competitive designer clothing will, in the name of competition, be considered a loser and no student wants to be considered a loser just because they cannot afford expensive designer clothing. The cost of the uniform depends upon what type of uniform is required.
To solve this problem, they 're trying many new different policies and one of them is ordering students to wear school uniform. Even though many schools don 't see this as the right choice, schools that have operate it mostly talked about the benefits
