Teachers out there, have you ever wanted a break from your boring and uneventful job but also wanted your students to excel in learning? Sounds impossible right? Well just let your students teach your class.Having students lead a class is a good way to get involved and sets a good example for other students.Some teachers may not trust their students but this is a useful method.Student-led learning should be enforced in Valley Center middle school because they give students the opportunity to lead and take responsibility and to cope with others.They also stimulate learning for students in a way that teacher-led classes don't. Schools around our country are giving students the opportunity to teach and are getting good results from it.

Student-led classes give students the chance to be in control, be more responsible, and to get along with others. Having students teach the class is a great idea because of the fact that it has worked in many cases. It also gives the students a great opportunity to cope with others. Professional teachers are finding allies among their students, as the effectiveness and possibilities of students teaching their peers, younger students, and adults is becoming increasingly evident in research. ("Examples as students as classroom teachers.")Another benefit from letting a student teach a class is that it builds respect for the students teaching. You always hear about bullying and different kids committing suicide, and I think that having a student teach is a great way to stop that.Some say that students will not be treated with the utmost respect that they should be given but there are consequences in every school for disrespect toward peers and teachers, so that takes care of that problem! Having students lead will help by having all students think of the correct answer and not just be listening to the teacher because they assume the answer is correct.You may think students will give false information, but each student will be required to know information on the topic they teach.Cornell also went on to say that this method encourages students to ask questions to the teacher instead of the teacher asking questions to the students("Student lead discussion in classroom"). Students will get to learn things as they teach just like a student, but are getting to be more involved.
