Strength is an influence of quality to have the power to be strong, courageous and exhibit the mentality to be a success. Sure we think of strength as being a bodily function, but we use strength in all aspects of life. Eric Thomas, Nolan Rivers, and my grandmother are three prime examples of the kind of strength that is used in life to achieve, accomplish and be successful. Each of these three people has a mindset that if you can be faithful in the small things in life, you can have the inner power to make your life a success. Attitude, which is the first agenda to make strength adjustments, is very substantial in making life meaningful. A hindrance to having a great character is speaking to others with an aggressiveness that gives off negative …show more content…
Attitude is reflected in a person’s behavior when he or she is listening or thinking about the perspectives or views of other individuals. It is the mental outlook, demeanor, and temperament toward something or someone. It is within yourself that is hard and unyielding to make changes in the approach when trying to move forward to a successful person. The process that constructs attitude is affective, behavioral, and cognitive. The affective component of a person’s attitude involves their emotions or feelings. The behavioral component of attitude deals with a person actions and gestures about any subject. Anyone who knows what they want out of life can use these components to have the greatness they desire. A motivated person can help people make adjustments in their attitude with their positive spirits. Making adjustments is a positive part of your life in general. A person as these listed above can brainstorm ways to help change a person’s attitude as they listen to the person talk. An attitude change occurs as a person grows from a child into an adult. However, if someone is not aware of their negative point of view they are not able to make the connections for perspective changes. Inspirational people like the three mentioned are very inspired and motivated to help anyone change their …show more content…

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”(Mahatma Gandhi). When you have the will to do something or you feel strong enough to accomplish something you do not need physical strength. An example of this is when Gandhi had his biggest protest in 1930. He led over thousands of Indians on an over 200 mile march to a town on the coast. The reason they did this is to stand up to the British which had a monopoly on salt. 60,000 people were arrested including Gandhi which shows even though they weren’t strong enough to stand against the law they still achieved their goal of protesting the salt monopoly. Chris also has similar quote to Gandhi’s and that quote is “It’s not important, in life to be strong…. but to feel strong”(Chris McCandless).

However, in some ways the approach seems that it neglects important components in how children can learn from their mistakes. The synonyms for strength are courage, power, stability and main force, it is these words that help provide children with the ability to move forward. Using the Strengths Approach can in some ways help children to see past their weaknesses and strive to develop on their strengths but in order to find your strengths you must test out and find the gap between them. “Simply focusing on people’s strengths is not enough to liberate people from oppressive realities” (McCashen, 2005, p. 2). The approach hides the ability to sort out the weakness and “not able to give a complete picture of a child” (DEECD, 2012, p. 8) therefore the approach is designed to neglect the areas in need of further
Strengths are gifts that we have that we us to our benefit, but we must use them in a holistic, Bible-based, and asset-based view. Strengths on the other hand are what we use to help define our unique design. Strengths are what we rely on primarily, such as if we are good at intellectual, we will primarily use those strengths instead of using emotional or physical strengths because we do not have a good measure on them. When we focus solely on our weaknesses, we will not fully understand our unique design. Weaknesses are wake the evil one uses that make us doubt are life calling because we are missing the mark on what our stre...

I tend to agree with this assessment as it brings out my best qualities as strengths in the right way and enables me to assess myself to realize my potential. The strength that can best describe me is the balance which also means consistency. This has helped me cultivate my reputation and has helped me balance my choices. The one that surprised me is courage since at most times I am a team player, and this rarely enables me to stand out
A positive attitude is, after all, absolutely necessary to achieve success since it influences the outcome of a task more than any other factor (Jacobs 2016). Jane Satrom definitely fits the bill when it comes to having a positive attitude. During her first year as a teacher, Mrs. Satrom recounts having two students who tested her patience and good heart. The two African-American students “accused [her] of being racist” and were constantly going to any possible extent to “get [her] off topic so they [did not] have to work” (J. Satrom, personal communication, September 27, 2016). This was barely the beginning of Mrs. Satrom’s career and she was already facing difficult situations on the job. However, although she “drove home, crying, many a day, over those two” she kept her positive attitude and moved on. This is a prime example of the correct way for someone to handle an obstacle they
Strength is having the courage to carry on during hard times. No matter what was happening in the lives of the characters they still kept going on throughout their lives. One example is when Big Mama died and she normally held the family together. The family had to continue their lives without her and this could have been hard for them to do.

Attitude is a learned behavior that can be changed based on the individuals choice and wiliness to change. The Webster’s New World Dictionary defines attitude in three different ways; first is a bodily posture showing mood or action, second is a manner showing one’s feeling or thoughts and third is one’s disposition. In General Attitudes are the feelings and thoughts you have about yourself and how you interact with other people. Attitude plays apart of everything in society’s life, from taking your first steps, going to high school, choosing a college, getting a job and choosing a mate. If attitude makes us who we are, gives us our character, then the question I purpose to you is, can you really get an “attitude adjustment” or is our attitude defined at birth?
Your attitudes lead to corresponding images, emotions, and actions that affect your life and relationships. Your attitudes are based on your previous experiences and your basic beliefs about how things are supposed to be. Your actions trigger the emotions and attitudes that go with them. By law of reversibility, you can actually act your way into feeling in a manner consistent with the action. By acting as if you were already happy, positive and confident, you soon begin to feel that way on the inside.
