10-12 John 3:17
CHILDREN OF GOD; AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE. CHILDREN COME INTO OUR LIVES…AND LOVE ALL THROUGH LIFE, EVEN THOUGH THEY MEY GROW OLDER AND MOVE AWAY BUT WE WILL ALWAYS CONSIDER THEM OUR CHILDREN. THE SAME IS TRUE AOUT EACH OF US WE ALWAYS ARE GOING TO BE GODS CHILDREN NO MATTER WHAT OUR AGE OR CIRCUMSTANCE AND GODS LOVING PRESENCE IS ALWAYS WITH US. AS CHILDREN HE TEACHES US WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW TO FULLY LIVE OUR LIVES. EVERY MOMENT OF OUR LIVES IS ONE IN WHICH WE CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR SELVES, ABOUT THOSE AROUND US, AND MORE ABOUT OUR WONDERS WITH GOD. GOD BLESSES AND LOVES THE CHILD WITHIN EACH OF US FOR WE HAVE BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE GOD'S CHERISHED CHILDREN.
AS WE GIVE OUR OFFERING THIS MORNING LET US BE OBEDIENT TO OUR FATHER AND DO WHAT IS PLEASING TO HIM.

"GIVING PROVES THE SINCERITY OF OUR LOVE."
IT'S EASY TO SING THE SONG "OH HOW I LOVE JESUS", BUT THE REAL MEASURE OF OUR LOVE IS SHOWN BY HOW MUCH OF WHAT WE HAVE IS GIVEN TO HIM.
(IN OTHER WORDS DO NOT JUST TELL ME YOU LOVE ME, DO SOMETHING FOR ME, SHOW ME THAT YOU LOVE ME.)
WHEN WE ARE EMOTIONALLY MOVED BY THE NEEDS OF OTHERS, WE INTEND TO DO A LOT, BUT OUR REAL CONCERN IS MEASURED BY OUR GIVNG.
LET GOD SEE THAT OUR LOVE IS SINCERE THIS MORNING AS WE WORSHIP HIM WITH OUR TITHES AND OFFERING.

CONCERNING THE OFFERING. MOSES SAID, THOU SHOULD SET IT BEFORE THE LORD THY GOD.
WOULD IT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IN OUR GIVING THIS MORNING IF, INSTEAD OF PLACING OUR ENVELOPES IN THE OFFERING PLATE, WE PLACED THEM IN THE HANDS OF THE LORD JESUS HIMSELF?
THIS, OF COURSE, IS WHAT WE ARE ACTUALLY DOING; GI...

...ARENTS BROUGHT HIM TO THE TEMPLE, AND SIMEON SAID, HE IS "A LIGHT TO LIGHTEN THE GENTILES."
EACH MONTH EACH OF US RECEIVES A LIGHT BILL. IT ALWAYS HURTS A LITTLE TO PAY IT, BUT WHO WOULD RATHER LIVE IN THE DARK? WE CHOOSE NOT TO, AND WE ARE WILLING TO PAY THE LIGHT BILL.
AT CHRISTMAS TIME WE USE EVEN MRE LIGHT, KNOWING THE BILL WIL GO UP; BUT WE WOULD NOT WAND TO CELEBRATE THE COMING OF THE SAVIOR WITHOUT LIGHT. AND SO WE LET THE LIGHT SHINE AND PAY THE BILL.
THERE IS A GOSPEL LIGHT BILL TOO, BUT, BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE PAID IT YEARS AGO FOR US WE LIVE IN THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL INSTEAD OF IN SPIRITUAL DARKNESS. AND NOW WE HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO PAY IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE. WE COULD LET THEM LIVE IN DARKNESS, BUT IN THE NAME OF JESUS WE GIVE TODAY, THAT HIS LIGHT MAY SHINE FARTHER, EVEN TO THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH, AS WELL AS HERE AT HOME. AMEN…
It is not light that we need, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake.
While teaching a large crowd that had gathered around him, Jesus looks at them and says to them all, “You are the light of the world.” The one who declared that he was the light of the world, is now looking at common people and telling them that they are as well. To prove his point even more he then uses two simple illustrations. The first being a visual of a city built on a hill. No one builds a city on a hill unless it is meant to be seen. The second being a common everyday occurrence that everyone in attendance that day would be able to relate to, and that is the lighting of a lamp and putting it on a stand in their home in order to illuminate everything in the room. The whole purpose, in Jesus’ time, of lighting a lamp and positioning it on the stand or brick that was strategically placed within the wall when the single room house was built, was so that it would light the entire dwelling. Both illustrations were used to convey the idea that God has purposed and positioned each person to be light in a world of spiritual darkness. In the same way that a city on a hill stands out and a lamp illuminates, we are meant to live in such a way that mankind can see our good works, that they can see how we love Jesus and follow Him, and then praise God because of
In order to address the world’s excessive reliance on artificial light, Paul Bogard uses his skillful and persuasive writing techniques in his piece “Let There Be Dark”. In this article, Bogard talks about the consequences of losing light and the irreplaceable value of darkness. Bogard also talks about how darkness can benefit all forms of life and how heavy reliance on artificial light is slowly killing the much-needed darkness in our world. In order to persuade the reader about this issue of too much light, Bogard effectively builds his argument by using personal anecdotes, statistics, guilt, different research findings, and solutions to absorb the reader into this article.

Seeing as how we are all God’s children, made in His image, it is important to understand the necessity to love and respect one another while glorifying Him in the process.
I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly, to pass my life in purity, and to practice my profession faithfully. I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in
According to Beck, many people have a tendency to pick up a lot of emotional energy. This means that they take on the emotional feelings from the people or general feelings around them. If we take a step back, we realize that this happens in a lot of the things we do. For example, fashions, fads and financial strategies are all co...

A main theme in this Sunday’s gospel is bravery and authority. Jesus was a major authority figure for all of his followers, and sometimes, his people had to be brave and stand by Jesus even in times of petrifying fear. This gospel also taught the remarkable power of Jesus. Unfortunately, the homily did not relate to the gospel. Instead, Father Ed gave a brief speech about the importance of donating any amount a person can to the school and Church community. If I were giving this homily, I would speak about how authority figures are not always eerie and intimidating, they can sometimes be the only person wise and understanding enough to help us with issues that can seem impossible to solve. Jesus, for example, is one of these immensely

The word love is mentioned in the Bible an average of 437 times, depending on the translation, so love is important to the basis of Christianity. One of the most profound pieces of Scripture discussing love is the overused John 3:16, which reads: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (The New Oxford Annotated Bible). This verse brings up the subject of sacrifice, reminding the audience that they have been saved through someone’s death and resurrection. Jesus was crucified so people he had never met would have eternal life in Him; He loved humanity so much that He was willing to die for us to save us. Since Jesus is wholly man and wholly God, we are also able to say that God loved humanity so much that He was willing to die for us to save us. Furthermore, God did not love just a few people, but rather, the entire world. Christ died for everyone, no matter each individual situation. He died for the believers and the non-believers. He died for the sinners and the saints. He died to save everyone for all
