Slightly more than four years ago, the world was given the saddening and earth shattering news that Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, had died. It’s fair to say the man went long before his time – but in that four-year span of time, his legacy and relationships have been thrust into the spotlight. And, for better or worse, those relationships are on display in the latest Steve Jobs bio-pic, simply titled – Steve Jobs.

In Steve Jobs, directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 127 Hours), Michael Fassbender stars as Steve Jobs – the co-founder and driving force behind Apple. In the first of three distinct points in Jobs’ life, Steve is about to walk on stage to introduce the world to the Macintosh (1984). True to form, Winslet is stunning in her portrayal as Hoffman – as if that should come as a surprise, although her character tends to appear more like a personal assistant as opposed to a meaningful spoke on the wheel. Regardless, Hoffman serves as a voice of reason for the occasionally outlandish Jobs – and a final stanza exchange between Fassbender and Winslet illuminates the duos unique and boundary-less working (and friendly) relationship.

Normally, you’d think both Fassbender and Winslet would steel the show – and to an extend Michael Fassbender does rule the roost, so to speak. However, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels chime in with precision and amble execution. Clearly Daniels is still in The Newsroom form, and sounds as if he walked straight onto the Jobs set from the now defunct HBO series – though he’s effective in his efforts, nonetheless. Equally as potent is Rogen, who takes a break of his typical comical shenanigans – and excels, supremely, especially in a blow-for-blow final showdown late in the film with
