Steroids are very harmful to the body and to the game. Steroids will hurt your health; they affect the organs like heart, liver etc. “Long-term steroid use can affect some of the same brain pathways and chemicals—including dopamine, serotonin, and opioid systems—that are affected by other drugs, and thereby may have a significant impact on mood and behavior”(NISA). These effects are very serious and deadly. Steroids also effect to any sport it is a form of cheating by using unnatural effect to perform better. They create unnatural muscle and endurance which make you preform to your max.
First of all, Steroids are very harmful to the organs and the effects can kill you. Steroids affect the brain; in some cases steroids may cause severe depression and thoughts of suicide. These are common effects of steroids. Steroids cause people to get hypercalcemia which has many effects to and you most are very serious. Hypercalcemia symptoms are nausea, vomiting, fatigue, musculoskeletal weakness, and pain. There are many more although these are the most common side effects of steroids. Other effects that link to the use of steroids are cardiovascular diseases including heart attacks and strokes.
Secondly, steroids are a big form of cheating in all sports. Steroids are cheating because they use these drugs to improve competitiveness, improve performances, and build lean muscle mass. All these effects help them perform to the max and hit more home runs; break more tackles, run faster, play harder and etc. This makes it illegal in all professional sports.
