Being an athlete in the National Football League (NFL) these days is a difficult and a demanding task. Athletes not just from the NFL but from other sports as well turn to PED’s (Performance Enhancing Drugs) in order to repel severe physical contact and injuries which are in the nature of their respective sports. When it comes to American Football, it should be noted that it is a sport which requires athletes to be at a peak physical condition and to be ready to perform at a high level. In my estimation, athletes should not be allowed to use illegal substances. Instead the NFL should try to limit injuries by banning helmet to helmet hits and hits after the play is over. Yet another reason why some athletes, who are considered to be near the end of their career or past their prime, use PED’s is so they can be able to play on the same level with the younger athletes.
