I believe that in today's society, people of every age and race have become victims or victimizers of stereotypes. Asians are considered to be the smartest race, African Americans/blacks are considered to be the most criminal race, and Caucasians/whites are considered to be the fattest and laziest race; the list of stereotypes in today's society could go on and on.

The stereotype of religion is very prevalent in my community. We have a population of just about under 400 and about 99.9% of my community is a certain religion. Everyone just assumes when you move to this community, you are also of this religion. If they find out you are not, they treat you differently, even if they don't mean to. They have their inside jokes and stories from church. The students that do not attend their church as viewed as the "bad kids" at school. Unfortunately, I think this community has been this way for a long time and it will take a long time for them to not stereotype those that are not of their religion.
