Most teens tend to lean towards that particular someone that is well known and very attractive but in riverdale, the story is turned and quit surprising. The director of the show “Riverdale” breaks the stereotype of every pretty girl dating a jock. Betty Cooper, ‘the girl next door’ is slowly falling for her childhood friend; Archie Andrews, but when he receives the news their feelings don’t seem to unit. “You're so perfect Betty, I’d never be good enough for you… I’ve never been good enough for you..” (Riverdale 43:58). And Betty soon realizes that being with Archie isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Discovering that her longtime crush has caught feelings for someone else, Betty Cooper just wants the truth from Archie and nothing less. “I’m
not gonna ask what you did with Veronica at Cheryl’s. I’m asking you now, right now, if you love me, Archie” (Riverdale 40:25). Betty’s mind raced miles and miles as she distanced herself from her former lover and new friend. “Dear Betty, please forgive me, XOXO, V” (Riverdale 10:25). As some relationships ended, others began and some friendships were never seen the same again. Veronica Lodge, new to riverdale gains connections with everyone. New friendships and relationships are built daily but the one she produces with Archie Andrews may not be a good thing. “Ask me a question, Archie. Ask me anything you want” (Riverdale 52:15). Both of these highschool sweethearts are well aware of the things they are doing and how they are hurting others by doing them. “I am so, so sorry, Betty. I don’t know what happened to me that night” (Riverdale 17:39). Although Betty’s feelings were turned upside down that didn’t stop her from finding someone that truly had her best interest at heart. Son of the most noble southside serpent, Jughead Jones, may be what Betty was looking for all along. “Hey, you didn’t have to walk me home. Uh, there’s a killer on the loose, remember? Besides, isn’t this what people like us, who’ve gone through what we’ve gone through, do” (Riverdale 12:35)? Finding out that Betty and Jughead are soulmates, Archie believes it is only right that he and Veronica become an ideal match as well. “I was seeing Betty and Jughead and I was seeing how good they were, and it confirmed how I’ve been feeling this last week. I want to be that for you” (Riverdale 28:45). In a small town where a lot seems to be going on; Betty and Jughead and Veronica and Archie somehow found a way to be happy aside all the tragic endings.
The film “A League of Their Own,” depicts a fictionalized tale of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League. This league was started during World War II when many of the Major Leagues Biggest stars were drafted to the war. MLB owners decided to start this league with hopes of making money while the men were overseas fighting. Traditional stereotypes of women in sports were already in force before the league even begins. One of the scouts letts Dottie, one of the films main characters she is the perfect combination of looks as well as talent. The scout even rejects one potential player because she is not as pretty as the league is looking for even though she is a great baseball player. The player, Marla’s father said if she was a boy she would be playing for the Yankee’s. Eventually Mara’s father is able to convince the scout to take Marla to try outs because he raised her on his own after her mother died. Her father says it is his fault his daughter is a tomboy. In this case the film reinforces the traditional stereotype that mothers are in charge of raising their daughters and teaching them to be a lady, where fathers are incapable of raising girls to be anything other than a tomboy. The focus on beauty also reinforces the traditional stereotype that men will only be interested in women’s sports when the females participating in
It is often the case that media and more specifically, film, perpetuates the stereotypes of black men. These stereotypes include not showing emotion, being physically aggressive, embrace violence, supposed criminality, associated with drug use, lack a father figure, sexually exploit women, and others. In the film, Boyz n the Hood, Tre’s father, Furious Styles, encourages Tre to demonstrate loyalty to other people in relationships, resist aggressive behavior, and foster and exhibit sexual responsibility. Thus, throughout the film, Tre challenges the society’s stereotyped norms of black masculinity and what it means to be a black man.

The term “hillbilly” is a stereotype for people who dwell in rural, mountainous areas in the USA. Because a stereotypical expression, “hillbilly” includes images of being violent and backward, many Americans feel offensive when they hear the word.
In this film we see many typical high school behaviors such as cliques, cattiness, and popularity (or lack there of) issues. Many scenes in this movie have an array of stereotypes. Sometimes they are clearly stated and others just seen through attitudes of the actors/actresses character. Also through out we follow the main clique “the plastics” and they have this image they have to uphold. Be perfect, skinny, the best at everything, and in sync with everything they do; or they wont uphold their status. I chose this film because I think it shows a lot of what we have learned in this course and how it is in real life. Clearly the film is exaggerated but much of

Al was the laid back one from California, he did not realize that he was not in California till the very end. Mark was Al’s friend. Mark was the frazzled that needed guidance and assurance to where he was at. The Waitress was the one that enforced the “Philadelphia” stereotype. In order to make this a successful poem

For many years, racial and ethnic stereotypes have been portrayed on multiple television programs. These stereotypes are still illustrated on a day-to-day basis even though times have changed. Racial or ethnic stereotypes should not be perpetuated on certain television programs. These stereotypes provide false information about groups, do not account for every person, allow older generations to influence younger generations, create tension between groups, and affect people in many ways.
Female beauty ideals are an overwhelming force in teen media. Approximately 37% of articles in leading magazines for teen girls emphasize a focus on physical appearance. This is none to surprising considering two of the top contenders in this media genre are Seventeen and Teen Vogue. CosmoGIRL and Elle Girl were among the ranks of popular teen magazines, but in recent years have become exclusively online publications. Add in a dash of publications Tiger Beat and Bop, and it becomes glaringly obvious that girls are charged with the prime directive of looking good to get the guy. The story becomes more disturbing when the actual audience, which includes girls at least as young as eleven years old, is considered. In a stage when girls are trying for the first time to establish their identities, top selling publications are telling them that their exteriors should be their primary concern of focus. Of course, this trend doesn’t stop with magazines. A study conducted in 1996 found a direct correlation between the “amount of time an adolescent watches soaps, movies and music videos” a...

Archie has recently divorced his first wife, Ophelia, when he meets Clara. They had been married for thirty years but the relationship had never been a happy one. Clara too has a history. She has just left a serious relationship after her boyfriend converts to the Jehovah’s witnesses. Her own parents have not set a good example. Her dad does little besides sitting around on an armchair watching television while her mother is intensely participating in church events. Without an example of a happy relationship it comes as no surprise that Clara and Archie’s marriage is not a happy one. Their wedding ceremony was little more than a legal agreement. The only guests were the Iqbals and Clara met them on the day of her wedding. It is not long before Clara is disappointed. They are unpacking boxes after moving to a new house and Archie is struggling with boxes that Clara could easily lift three at a time. Watching him Clara realizes that while he is no knight in shining armor, he is a good man, and that is good enough. It does not take Archie long to move on either. Clara notices that he does not look at her the same way he did when they first met. He no longer looks at her with love but instead looks with a certain bored acceptance.
