Stephenie Meyer is a “hopeless romantic”, as most critics would say. She mostly writes romance stories, but has also written fantasy and science fiction. Her most famous novel would have to be Twilight no doubt. She has only written eight books in her lifetime so far, and over half of them are the Twilight series. Her books appeal to teenagers and young adults. Meyer was the bestselling author of 2008 and 2009 in American, having sold over 29 million books in 2008 and 26.5 million books in 2009. Stephenie says that she writes books because, one day she had a dream and wanted to write it down so she wouldn’t forget it. Then she just kept writing and writing until she had written a whole book! Just four years after her birth, her family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. Her parents also had five other children, Seth, Emily, Jacob, Paul, and Heidi. As the second of six children, meyer took on the duties associated with being an elder sibling in a large mormon family. Between caring for her younger brothers and sisters, she developed a passion for reading. She began to become a fan of classic authors such as Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte and Margaret Mitchell, among many others. In 1996, between her junior and senior years at Brigham Young, Meyer became re-acquainted with her childhood friend Christian Meyer, who she soon after married. After graduating Brigham Young University in 1997, she gave birth to her first son Gabe. Not much longer after that Stephenie gave birth to two more sons, Seth and Eli. On June 2, 2003, she became an author in earnest. Following a compelling dream, the inspiration for the Twilight book series and the basis for chapter thirteen of its first book, she began a franchised writing spree. The Meyer family now lives in Cave Creek, Arizona. Stephenie is now an actor, author, film producer, and novelist. Her hobbies include writing stories and playing with her three sons. Meyer has had many successful books that has led her to receive the Children’s Choice Book Award for Author of the Year!
