Gay marriages are unacceptable in my opinion because it goes against God’s words. God’s word is the truth and no one can change it. Allowing gay marriage also puts churches at risk, because if pastors allow same sex marriage it makes them go against God’s word as well. Homosexuality is a sin and it is unacceptable to force gay marriage on people who do not believe in it. It is also an unnatural act because God created Adam and Eve, not Eve and Eve nor Adam and Steve.
Same-sex marriage is harmful to society and it must be opposed. Same-sex marriage will always deny a child either a mother or a father, it validates and promotes the homosexual lifestyle, it turns a moral wrong into a civil right, and it is a major offense to God. Same-sex marriages should not be given the privilege to get married because they are incapable of producing a child together. However, if same-sex couples decide to use a third party, such as adoption or artificial insemination to obtain a child, they are putting the child at risk. According to the book “Life Without Father” by David Popenoe states that “Fathers excel in reducing antisocial behavior and delinquency in boys”(1999).
One cannot deny that one of the main justifications as to why gay marriage is presently unlawful is due to the religious understanding that homosexual individuals are sinners. The reason being is, when an individual violates the natural ethical order founded by God, that person sins and insults God. An individual who professes to follow the teachings of God must oppose to same sex marriage as it is considered unethical and immoral. In addition, gay marriage will consequently invade our right to freely exercise our religious freedoms. A pastor shouldn’t be obligated to marry a homosexual couple or a church shouldn’t be forced to be the site of a gay wedding.
For something to be morally good, it must fulfill it’s ... ... middle of paper ... ...l, is not a moral justification for premarital sex. Because pleasure is not the purpose of sex and immoral, it is not able not possibly moral. Often opponents argue from the position of homosexual couples who are unable to marry. In such an approach, homosexual sex would be accepted as immortal as the can neither reproduce nor wed. Such a sexual relationship is inherently unnatural as it consists of two people of the same gender.
In the United States, we do not advocate for civil liberties and/or religious freedom. The right to marry whom you love? That is an abomination! As we all know, the eighth commandment, “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” clearly states that marriage to the opposite sex is a sin. In Paul’s Letters to the Corinthians, Paul states openly that it is wrongful for women to pray without a head covering and for men to have long hair, but we live in a contemporary society!
According to Joe messerli in”should same sex marriage be legalized” (balancedpolitics.org) denying gay couples the right to marry is a violation of religious freedom. Civil and religious marriages are two separate institutions. The First Amendment in the bill of rights states that “ There shall be no law respecting an establishment of religion. Therefor denying homosexual citizens the right to get married is a violation of the United States Constitution. The reason to involve religion is because most of the negative feedback from gay marriage comes from religious groups. For the reason being passages of the Bible declaring homosexulity a sin and punishment for homosexual acts.
Just shoving it in someone’s face that homosexual marriage is ‘wrong’ because it offends God, is wrong. You have to take in consideration that those people’s beliefs may be different of your own. In the Bible it says in Matthew 7:1-2 (the words of Jesus), “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others you will be judged, and with the measure you used, it will be measured to you.” It’s cruel to judge people by the way they love and who they love. It says in Genesis 1:31, “God saw all that he made and it was very good.” This right here proves to those who believe that God hates homosexuals that it is in correct.
When it comes to it we shouldn't judge each other, just let a higher power decide. Many people's religion will not allow any fondness to gay marriage but perhaps we can come to an agreement. Most Americans don't believe that it is right for same sex marriage and would probably feel more comfortable if gays could have a different ceremony and marriage license. Every man is responsible for himself, so don't worry about if gays are condemned to hell, let god be the judge. But there should not be a spiritual marriage and a sacred marriage like the one between a man and a woman.
Those supporting same-sex marriage state that marriage is nothing but a contract and prohibiting this right is unconstitutional and discriminatory. Same-sex marriage is a sacred, traditional bond between a man and a woman: Religious conservatives definitely believe that same-sex marriage is a moral disorder. Most believe that this can be nothing but sinful. Many religions believe that God established limits on human behavior which same-sex marriages would violate. These religious people often regard same- sex marriage as chosen, changeable, abnormal, unnatural behavior to which people can become addicted.
Only homosexuals demand that society rescind the age old recognition that sexual license, be it adultery or sodomy, is not only injurious to the participants but an assault on the common good. This is self-deception turned into a group effort. Individual acts of unnatural sex are one thing, and bad enough, but the homosexual ideology threatens the very basis of human society.
