When studying for my Bachelor degree in Pharmacy, I received an interesting exposure to the basics of administration of Pharmaceutical industries which has further fueled my interest in learning the process of Approval from Food and Drug Administration and other laws that regulate Manufacturing, Marketing and advertising of Drugs, Pharmaceuticals and Health care devices to ensure that they are safe and effective. This has inspired me to opt for an MS program in this field and would also provide an intellectual, cultural, ethical understanding and awareness needed to become leaders and innovators in global society.
My interest with Regulatory affairs started with the basics of subjects in my bachelor degree like Pharmacy Administration, Forensic Pharmacy, etc., and also some regulations included in subjects like Biopharmaceutics , Pharmacokinetics, and Dosage Form Design. A subject called Dosage Form Design & Novel Drug Delivery Systems helped me understand GMP, Quality Assurance and Evaluation of various types of Drugs and other health care products.
I learnt the basics of Management and behavioral ...

...sm are fundamental to pharmacy. As a pharmacist, I will be analyzing the effects of medication on patients, researching and developing new drugs, and studying the criticism of specific drug therapies and trials. While I may only see my patients through the window at the pharmacy counter, I will be able to relate to them on a deeper level because the study of literature has helped me better understand human nature. In addition, literature has played a significant role in shaping and affirming my morals and values. Consequently, I will bring a high standard of ethics to a field in which they are essential. Today, pharmacists are the most trusted professionals in the United States. I know that the passion, the skills, and the abilities that I have developed as a result of my English Literature major will provide me with a strong foundation to build my pharmacy career.
...ing development and manufacturing (Quality Risk Management, 2006). The population is every bit of reliant on medication to manage several life threatening conditions, and risk comes along with the medication and should not be overlooked. There are several laws and regulations that are set into place for specific reasons such as FDA Amendments Act, which sets forth risk identification, evaluation and mitigation objectives regarding post market drugs. This helps the overall population by making pharmaceutical companies more adherent to drug safety and incorporating safety into their pre-market processes and also once the drug has been released to the public.
Although the pharmaceutical industry says that prescription medicines are as safe as they can possibly be, prescribed drugs have a high increase of risking a patient’s health. According to the law, drug makers seek Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for specific uses of their products and conduct trials to test their drugs safety and effectiveness in patients with specific conditions. The FDA demands that drug companies conduct rigorous clinical trials to prove a drugs safety and effectiveness in treating a particular disease. However, once the FDA approves a drug for one use, doctors can prescribe it for whatever they want. The FDA is considering loosening the monitoring of off-label prescriptions, but if anything, regulations should be tightened. Despite the practices of some medical personnel, the risk of serious medical complications demands that the FDA regulate and restrict off-label use of prescription drugs.

Pharmaceutical products are the key element of health systems that helps the community. Despite pharmaceutical being a huge multi-billion dollar industry. This element of governance describes the negative and positive sides of the pharmaceutical industrial parameters.
During high school, I recall flipping through the pages of my father’s pharmacology textbooks. I was in awe of the abundance of information, and I began to crave knowledge of pharmaceuticals and their systemic targets. Not but a few years later, I began my experience in the field of pharmacy as a drug packer. As soon as I came of age, I applied for my pharmacy technician license – and was promoted shortly thereafter. While my drug and medical knowledge grew, I longed for the opportunity to work directly patients. This innate desire has led me to where I am today: prepared, committed and possessing an aptitude and intellectual maturity required to excel as a pharmacist. I have learned to promote teamwork and professionalism within a pharmacy, take charge in difficult situations, and complete tasks efficiently yet thoroughly. Pursuing a career as a pharmacist would incorporate my passion for pharmaceuticals and their underlying pharmacokinetics with my commitment to promoting health and well-being within my community.
As a pharmacy technician in-training, I quickly came to realize the professional skills I’ve learned in my biomedical sciences classes plays a role in a pharmacy, too. Organization and time management plays a huge role in order to provide the proper medications. In Medical Interventions, we use aseptic technique and label plates to prevent human error and contamination, which is similar to in the pharmacy, we make sure to work with only one medication at a time and verify medication on a computer to prevent mislabeling. In Biomedical Innovations, we learned HIPAA, regulations to keep personal health information confidential. At the pharmacy, I got to apply these rules since I come in contact with personal information from patients in order to verify their identity and give them the right medication. Personal health information was explained in the CVS Health Code of Conduct for Externships and the CVS modules I studied, but with prior knowledge, it was very easy for me to recognize what information must be kept

The marketing of prescription drugs has always been a controversial topic due to the sensitive nature of the product; hence heavy legislation hugely affects the promotion of a drug. The major players of the industry are huge multinationals, so must be aware of the different requirements of each market, not just legislation but also the needs of customers and the social norms of the environment which they reside.
