Statement of Purpose

My application for the PhD degree program on management is grounded in my solid motivation toward engaging in research activities. In particular, after carefully considering my aptitude, interests, experi- ences, as well as my ultimate professional ambition, I am determined to pursue my career as an academic researcher and instructor. Exactly, my objective for graduate studies is to prepare me for the goal of being a scholar, contributing to expand knowledge boarders in industrial engineering and management, and instilling my enthusiasm to the context in students.
When I was a high school student, the most appreciated study area in my society was engineering. While I had inclinations to both engineering and business fields, I opted to begin an engineering BSc in one of the top ranked technology universities in my country. Attending to the program required passing the country-wide university entrance exam and among nearly one hundred thousand attendants, I succeeded to be among first accepted student to the program. Simultaneously, I began my self-studies in strategic management in a way that my self-studies directed my BSc final project with a focus on investigating the strategic effects of different financing approaches in a large mining firm. This project was awarded a perfect grade of 20/20; a motivating departure point for my future studies and practices.
During my undergraduate education, I joined a business group that developed business plans and fea- sibility studies in different industries. There, I gradually became familiar with the business evaluation methods from various perspectives of engineering, marketing and economic. Now, I am here to say welcome to new challenges. Relying on the history of 16 years of continuous studying and working in engineering, business, and pedagogic disciplines, I am intent on that only an academic life can satisfy my professional concerns. All in all, my self–motivation, self–regulation, being an active team member, and self–starter characteristics, along with my fortitude to conquer challenges in the way and my attitude to learn more and more let me to believe that my jobs as a PhD researcher will meet the targets of the program. I am aware of the hard work, perseverance, and dedication that are inherent parts of a PhD program and I believe I have these needed qualities.
