Sport is a universal phenomenon which serves to instill a sense of belonging in many individuals lives. Athletics are indispensible when it comes to their impact on a plethora of public arenas. It is the study and research of health, wellness, movement, and athletics that forms the foundation of our society. Those who choose to study these areas are creating a better tomorrow. It is the students at the University of Michigan’s College of Kinesiology that will be leading the way in these advancements.
There are certain things that can't be experienced through anything else but sports. It is this aspect that has driven me to surround myself with athletics; to be exposed to the character revealing features that are uniquely sports. It is athletics …show more content…

It is the hands-on approach to learning that attracts me the most. The idea that the optimum education is attained through real-world situations and learning beyond the classroom. It would give me the opportunity to delve deeper into my passion in an innovative environment alongside those that share my spirit for subject.
The College of Kinesiology also appeals to me because of the various successful graduates produced that work in the field of my intended study. With alumni in league offices like the NBA and others involved in professional sports teams like the Detroit Red Wings I am confident that The College of Kinesiology would prepare me for a career in the global sports industry.
The curriculum for the Sports Management program within the College of Kinesiology tailors to me in a multitude of aspects. Studying the impact sports has on our culture through courses like “Race Relations, Cultural Images, and Sport” hits the core of my interests. It would also offer me courses in marketing and business that would allow me to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge; molding me into a well rounded person with endless career
